RE: prop for DD with pro.36

I have had three of these engines, two still running. For a "Clean" plane an 8x8 APC works great when the pipe is properly tuned. Mine turn in the low to mid 17,000 range on 15% Cool Power...

Enough already! I'm ready to go to Pat'S place to see it fly. Can't wait much longer. Do you know Phil Kimbrell? Flys at Triple Tree often. Let us know when it will happen![:@]

RE: Who wants a scale pusher prop jet?

It appears that this project is getting too complex to appeal to the average modeler. The general rule of thumb is to keep it simple and lightweight. The extra servos and hardware necessary to...

Rossi .65 powered Whip..test flight! Now with graphic crash details and PICS!!

Someone might want to try a little "washout at the wingtips......seems to work well on the real thing.

When does a shaved prop loose it's efficiency on speed?

Just remember that as you shave the tip (wash-out area) you effectivly increase the average pitch of the prop....(ie. a 9 x7 could turn into an 8 x 8 by taking 1/2" off each tip..get my drift???????

Crankcase volume

Thanks Gord. That's about what I figured. How many head shims (if any) are used in a DF engine? Do you need to keep the compression down for high R's?

Zinger Pro props for 3D?

The 28 x8 should give noticibly better pull, lower top speed (not needed in 3D flying anyways.) But may be too much prop to spool-up fast enough for hover, or quick recovery type maneuvers. Ought to...

Best .28 to .36 sized engine under $100?

I'm currently using a TT Pro 36 with mousse can muffler on an outlaw. Performs every bit as well as, if not better than an OS 32 at less than half the price (about $75) Turns an APC 8x8 at 18200 on...

Tune for RPM or Thrust ??

It is a good question! I've been fooling around with props on an outlaw with a TT Pro36. One thing I have noticed is that when I turn a 7.25 X 9 prop the same speed I turn an 8 X 8, the plane...

Who wants a scale pusher prop jet?

The X-35 is sweet looking and I would definatly be interested in "fast" semi-scale. The military look has a great "WOW" factor in my book.
