RE: Landing in a tight spot... idea?

fwiw on the SlowStick you can 'feather' the tail surfaces and spiral in quite nicely - full up elevator and rudderl, you can stall it in a tight spiral all the way down (get your CG a litle back...

RE: Best Lipo charger for 10+ cell?

Astro has a lipo charger, also you can use a (Programmable) lab power supply (V and A adjustable) if you know what you're doing.

RE: GP3300 vs. Kokam 4th Generation

How about GP3300's pulling 150Amp+ in F5B setups? (granted, a LiPo F5B would be new teritory, but a rule change isn't anytime soon).

Also I didn't read thru everything, but I guess the GP3300's...

RE: Why can't I use....?

fwiw 'modern' NiMh have no problems pouring out the amps as required; for eg

Sanyo 600AR cell, you'll be hard pressed to pull more than 10A. KAN or GP 1100, 20A to 30A (GP's) isn't a problem. ...

RE: The best radiosystem for around 500$

Check out the thread on metalic paint pealing/wrinkling from 9C case in under a year; looks like a bad batch out there.

RE: GD-600 gearbox

Dru,

Wondering if you've seen 10T pinions at the car section of your lhs before?! Smallest I could find was 11 or 12T iirc. I had 3 lhs look up all R/C car suppliers/mfg/distributors for 10T...

RE: MORE POWER! I need 2000 Watts

Wow, not everyday I've seen sponsored academia projects that have no end goal in mind (from the sponsors)? fwiw, the 100w/lb is just rule of thumb; design and prop it correctly, you've get more...

RE: MORE POWER! I need 2000 Watts

Just imo ... I'm assuming it's an Engr project to see how much weight you can lift/distance? (water ballons) Best approach is to design the a/c from that requirement, and imo you will probably not...

RE: Lipos - can you store them charged?

Dick, just imho ... I don't think a 6/30/04 pack, runined (say today) in under 4 months would be due to storing at full charge (say you used it only 4 times ... 1 month storage in between). I've had...

RE: Futaba T14MZ price is posted at Tower

fwiw list prices in Japan:

T14MZ
280,000 Yen = 2,518 USD

9ZWC2
237,000 Yen = 2,132 USD

I'd suppose one can guesstimate street price of the T14MZ from current 9Z prices in the US...

RE: NEW FUTABA T14MZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are 2 CPU's in the T14MZ, one to run the radio (for flying), and the other for the WinCE interface (which looks more like a top layer programming interface and monitoring) - so it looks like...

RE: I Love This Hobby!! Brushless Projeti Rocks! Resurrecting the Projeti!

When I started out with LongCan 400 motor, I was already using 10 cell KAN packs, then then packs got used with the Mega, and then I 'upgraded' to the TP pack - so I don't have an 8-cell comparison...

RE: NiCads vs Nmh

iirc Battery mfg tech documents state C/50 rate if you're putting it on a charger indefinately. The other way is to put your C/10 charger (Wal-Wart) on a 24 timer that turns it on ~1hr a day.
