That is correct once you have the 23mm adapters...

That is correct once you have the 23mm adapters for the XT all HPI and proline and others will fit.

It sounds like the gears are stripping somewhere...

It sounds like the gears are stripping somewhere eithier the gears in the servo or the teeth on the servo are are slipping. Take the servo horn off and see if its still making the same noise if so...

yes you have done something wrong all of them should return back against the shaft when not engage. Have you made sure that all of the spring ends is behind the clutch nut?

Yes that is correct if it was not cooled down at BDC the piston will pinch in the sleeve and cause it to lock up. Just remove the engine take off the back plate to the engine and used a hair dryer as...

When you put the engine back together did you seal the engine an air leak in the engine will cause it to run hot also.

Yes if the engine is moving at all that will strip the gears your screws to the engine mount have to be locktite and screwed down tight as well as the screws on the bottom of the car in the engine...

From talking to dave he is the new marketing manager at redcat he gave me some info on it. It is talked about alot on the rampage forum supposed to be released late fall trying for the holiday season.
