Has anyone built this or have any knowledge of it? A...

Someone gave me a half completed Sterling Chris Craft kit and I am trying to complete it. It's about 31 inches long and fairly light wood construction. I fiberglassed the hull and painted it,...

RE: Fiberglassing question

Liquid sheeting? What is that? I have fiberglassed a few planes, didn't always do a great job of filling the weave.  It still flys ok, and al least the fiberglass and paint don't loosen up and flap...

I have a Saito 91 that is missing the lock nuts - do I have to order them as a Saito part or are they available from other sources? They are 7mm. Thanks

RE: bigger Something Extra?

The only Uproar kit I see is a 40 size with a 48 inch span - is there a bigger one?  I don't have a kit to trace the parts from, just a built plane.

bigger Something Extra?

Has anyone ever built a bigger version of the Something Extra? I was thinking of around 72 inch span. I have a plane, and I guess I could measure everthing on it and scale it up - it would be easier...

RE: Scratch building Astro Hog ( help with tail)

I'm still working on my scratch built Astro Hog, and am using a Saito 90 four stroke. When I held the engine against the side view I realized that long motor with a regular motor mount would put the...

RE: Scratch building Astro Hog ( help with tail)

There are no rubber bands anywhere, maybe the very first Astro Hogs built in 1957 used that -but not our planes. It sounds like you have the horizontal stab figured out. There doesn't seem to be any...

RE: Scratch building Astro Hog ( help with tail)

I just started scratch building a Hog fuselage today. I had one years ago (still have the back half of the fuse and the wing).  If you have the side view on the plans, that is the only picture there...

RE: Club FOX!

I saw a picture of a Fox 120 twin, like two 60's put together, in another thread (forgot just where). When did Fox do this - are there any available out there? It would be fun to mess around with...

RE: Top Flite C-47 (DC-3)

Thanks for the pictures, it looks great! It's good to see a real-life messy workbench too!
I have one of these kits in a little pile of "someday projects". Let us know how it flies - I suppose by...

RE: 58 cd idle problem

Well, I guess I found the problem. The foam around the fuel tank had shook loose and wasn't really padding the tank much. I pulled it apart and got the foam back under and on the sides of the tank...

RE: 60 size taildragger ideas

Well, I ordered a Fantasy ARF from Skyshark Models  - haven't gotten it yet. If that works out good I'll retire the Something Extra.
Those Astro Hogs look darn good to me  The wing I have is real...

RE: 60 size taildragger ideas

Thanks everyone - that Great Planes Escapadelooks sort of interesting - are they well made? I already have enough projects started, maybe an ARF would be a good idea.
