Sorry to drag up a 3 year old thread, but it happened again!.
One of my Saito 115s stripped 4 teeth off the cam gear due to no lubrication. I pulled my other 115 off the plane and opened the cam...

RE: Shawn Spiker - Top Notch Hitec Service & Support

I have dealt with Hitec support several times and they have always exceeded my expectations. They've repaired crash damaged receivers at no cost to me, and replaced unrepairable receivers and servos...

RE: Odd discovery with my YS1.10FZ

Which engine do you have? Pipe from the hardware store won't likely fit the threads in your YS, they're metric threads, not pipe threads.

RE: Any reported issues with Hitec H5485 servos?

I have around 20 of the 5485 servos and run them all on 5 cell nimh batteries, 2000 mah, 6.0 volts. I have not had a single failure of these servos. Sorry for your loss.

Had you dipped it in Corrosion-X? What I meant was that I'd never had a servo fail from getting wet that I had treated with Corrosion-X.

RE: HITEC 5646WP Waterproff servo...

I use Hitec servos almost exclusively, mostly 5485's. Those exposed to water are opened up and dipped in Corrosion X. I've never had one fail from getting wet.

RE: glue for foam

Depending on just what kind of foam it is, you could use hot melt glue. Try it on a scrap first and use a lower setting if your glue gun has different heat settings.

RE: HS-5085MG: What is a proper power supply?

Also, you said that the battery pack is new. In my experience, nimh packs require several charge/discharge cycles (3-4) before they are able to perform to their capacity.

RE: Where can you buy O-Rings Small Enough for Our Engines?

Harbor Freight.................What they sell is just a bunch of crap..................But some times it saves the day!

I love the place, and hate it at the same time.

RE: saito fg-21

I just got a FG-21 and bench ran it today. It ran sweet, started immediately and never faltered. As the instructions state, I kept the RPMs below 4000 for the first 40 minutes. Although I have many...

RE: Electrical connectors

Ditch the voltwatch, it won't tell you anything useful. If you're concerned about the battery's condition or how it actually preforms in flight, get one of these http://www.voltmagic.com/ .

RE: sandy beach giving problems

I bring a folding table and start the planes on that. Then carry them to the water's edge and place them into the water. They never touch the sand and I've never had the problem the op describes.

RE: How can I test receiver batterys

Actually the Tower Hobbies checker mentioned above won't tell you if your batteries are failing. Only an actual capacity test can do that. I cycle my batteries with a capable charger through several...

RE: Piston rotation

1. Did you take the cam cover off? If so, are you sure that the cam is timed correctly?
2. Do you have compression? If no, it will never run.
3. Make sure the pushrods are seated into the rocker...

RE: Help....Warped elevator

You could try heating the covering to pull some of the warp out, but judging from the severity of the warp, I don't think it'd work. I don't see a quick fix. If it were my plane, I'd:

1. Return...

It's been a few years since I had mine apart, but IIRC the crank and the cam both have a dot on them. Align the dots adjacent to each other to get the timing. The valvse set the same as any other...

Email has been sent.
FWIW, I received 4 of the TACM0004 cables and none of them had instructions. Using this cable definitely isn't intuitive, Tactic needs to include them with the product. The...
