RE: NEW DLE 20cc Gasser! (Data & Links 1st Post)

A very dumb question here. Also, I don't have a timing degree wheel and can't establish with precision TDC. To get to 28-30 degrees BTDC, how many millimeters have you turned the sensor? Looking at...

RE: DLE 20 & 30 ignition module

Replacing the #4 with CDI from the dle 55, would that improve the idling issue? Also if I did that, would I need to adjust the ignition timing? Any response from someone knowledgeable (like Jody :D)...

RE: DLE 20 & 30 ignition module

Thanks Jody for telling us about the #4 ignition module that comes with the dle 20. Your explanation describes accurately the erratic behavior of my dle 20 at those rpm.

RE: Small gassers not worth the investment!

I replaced my OS 1.20AX with a DLE20cc and although am experimenting a little problem with the idle (I believe because engine not broken-in yet), so far the little gasser has proven to be a superior...

RE: NEW DLE 20cc Gasser! (Data & Links 1st Post)

Yeah, I have the latter problem that you describe, high idle drops back to normal by itself after 20 seconds or so.

RE: NEW DLE 20cc Gasser! (Data & Links 1st Post)

I went to the field yesterday. I richened the LS needle to try to cure the high idle problem I was having. I had to open it by almost half a turn and it worked. However, the engine was running too...

RE: DLE 20 Surging during throttle servo movement

So, this #4 ignition unit is something that we can learn to live with or should we be replacing it by some other version?

RE: DLE 20 Surging during throttle servo movement

He was using 6v for ignition and switched to 4.8v and that fixed the problem, as I understand it.

RE: DLE 20 Surging during throttle servo movement

Also the manual says "Any 4.8-6.0V, 1000mAh and above capacity battery will work well for this"

RE: DLE 20 Surging during throttle servo movement

A&PMECH, I am glad that you got the problem solved. Question is, you solved it because the throttle servo could not handle 6v and was moving erratically or because the cdi could not handle well a...

RE: DLE 20 Surging during throttle servo movement

My dle 20 came with the #4 unit. I am using a lipo, regulated at 5.32volts, is that ok or is it too much?

RE: NEW DLE 20cc Gasser! (Data & Links 1st Post)

I'm having trouble with the engine not coming all the way down to low rpm at idle. Sometimes it does and other times I have to wait 20 to 30 seconds. I am able to kill the engine with the throttle...

RE: DLE 40cc or 60cc twin?

So I take it you don't have any DLE engines in your planes, otherwise you'd be among those Americans that are helping destroy the economy, right?

I use a motorcycle glove, it's made of leather and reinforced with Kevlar in all critical areas. As RealFly put it... A no brainer.
