3 work fine, but the last one only locks on Tx for 5/7 seconds @ cold and 2/3 seconds @ hot ... BUT finally looses...

OS 72 just looks to be an over-bored .56 ... ( same stroke, also as the .62 !!! ). ;)
Sooo ... no problem for them to get into cowls , nor weight problems ...

Retracts and single engines OR fixed gear and Twin engines ... ;)

Good quality connectors are generally gold plated - just a "flash", do not dream - ... ( try to avoid chinese junk [&o] for these ... ) I think Mouser , Farnell or DigiKey could...

I exactly did what CNut describes ...

front gear is 4 mm ( 3.96 ? ) dia ... so, I used 4 mm wire on its side.
front damper is 4.5mm , so, I re- drilled it to 5 mm, and placed a 4x5 mm...
