Yes, opening up the H needle perhaps 1/4 or more helped.

No more hesitation now on either of the two 57's I have. It also helps on the FG-36.

But mine could also skip a beat even when...

Well, the stock flex tubes has to be firmly bolted to the plane at "the other end", otherwise they don't last long.

It is strange. I have tried both my planes with FG-57 in warmer wheather, around plus 15 deg Celcius here now.

In a ESM Corsair and a TF Fw-190.

Not a single hesitation from any of the two...

First I will have to take off the cowl, and see if I get more rpm by moving the sensor a bit. But first I'll try the other ignition. Got 2 of them, you know.

When the engine has a standard Walbro, you can adjust Hi neede with your fingers, while running full speed.

Then it is possible to find the sweet spot. Even though I don't like to do it...

Today I started up the FG-57 after putting in the new Saito ( RcExl) ignition.

It fired up easily, and run just fine. Good to hear the sound of a proper engine again.

Old Fart, I bought the second ignitions for $222 x 2 . But they were the wrong type.

The third set of ignitions ( its 2 of them) are free replacements for the second replacement.

So, yes,...

I got the replacement ignition, 2 off them, free of charge from Advantage Hobby.

In my opinion, a 24x10 is too big for the engine. 22x10 is best. But hey, I am not the most experienced guy around here.

But the rpm drop at 24x10 is significant....and would explain at least...

So you are using a 22x10 APC ? Good grief, thats like putting a big razor-blade up front.

I am really scared of the APC's. Myself I am only using wood propellers nowadays....

If you test it with a magnet you hold in your hand and it works, then, as mentioned above, it might still not work on the engine, because of the polarity issue.

If you have the RcExcel style...

When trying to start an engine the first time, and if you have no idea on whether the Lo and or Hi needle is in the ballpark, it might be an idea
