I should not have snapped, it's just that sometimes people don't read and end up asking the same question over and over.
I'm thinking the all wood 41% Extra 300 will be around $1,395 and will cost about $100 to ship.
There is also a composite 260 that will be around $2,400.

The new one costs me a little more so it will cost a little more, probably like $439. It should be worth the extra few bucks.
I just finished the prototype. Ready t fly it weighs exactly 16 pounds. That includes 2 2400 LI-ion battery packs on Rx with regulators, a 730mah pack for the ignition, DA-50, Bisson wraparound muffler, standard hardware kit, etc. The canopy on this one is made of thick material, I think we can save a couple ounces there. Also we'll have a CF wing tube available as a $25 option.
It will also come with a standardized method of installing a canister or tuned pipe. We'll supply a platform to relocate the fuel tank and make a tunnel and it will be clear for a long distance inside.

Tom, I really like the scheme on the picture of the prototype. Are you going to produce that same covering? If you do, put me down for one

Will you be able to put an engine like the G62 in the new Extra 300 84"? In other words, can you still put the servos in the tail?

Hi Tom. What is the length of the 40% Extra 300 from spinner to rudder? I have about 110" in my 6 x 10' trailer. Would it fit?

I like the new Extra 300, got an estimated price?

Today was the maiden for the prototype.
It was set up as follows;
Hitec 5945s on ele/ail, 5955TG on rudder. DA-50, Bisson wraparound muffler, all standard hardware kit stuff, foam wheels from kit, Mejzlik 22-10 prop, Dave Brown 4" spinner, 2x 2400 liion battery packs with 6.0v regulators, dual switches, single receiver
All up weight ready to fly was 15 pounds, 14 oz. You heard that right, under 16 lbs with no real lightening efforts. Still room to save a few more ounces with a CF wing tube and thinner canopy. The canopy in this one weighs about a half pound.
There's not much other room to cut weight, maybe a single battery pack. The gear is already very thin.
The original Extras fly great, this one is a step up. It will do a blender so tight it's turning in its own wing span, and it will start climbing with very little effort. Elevators are rock solid with no wing rock at all. You can drive it around in a harrier all day with just rudder.
It's also a great IMAC plane, tracks straight and true. We did a few hammerheads with it, then we came very close to turning a happerhead into a pinwheel, I think it will do this with a bit more practice.
FYI this is the exact same plane as the 41%, just scaled down. With a DA-50 it had way plenty of power (as you might expect with the plane under 16 lbs). It was a little tail heavy with batteries back by the receiver. I'll move them up front next, we had to add 4 oz. to the nose of the DA50 to get it to neutral. It will probably be OK with Rx. batteries in front and a bigger ignition battery.
Stay tuned, this plane is really excellent and we will get it into production asap.

Well, that kind of makes me a little ticked seeing i'm putting together a 17 lb extra right now If only I had known...
I"m guessing the wings are lighter also? Dang it...

Well don't be too upset. The new plane won't be available for several months and I plan to keep the otherones available also.
I have noticed that there are two kinfs of people who fly these planes, some are totally consumed by weight and others are looking for a plane that's rugged and won't be bothered by the occasional hard landing.
I think there will always be a market for the plane you have now, when the new one becomes available I'm sure you won't have any trouble selling the old one.

Tom,
Your doing a bang up job keeping us up to date on new airframes. I looked at a bunch of companies putting out new planes over the internet yesterday, but none of them are close to keeping up with you. I know your working hard, and I just want to say I appriciate it. My old lady isn't too happy that I'm wanting a 40%, but it going to be hard to resist.

Tom, what size spinner will the new 40% take? 5 inch?

Jeff, go ahead and get the 40%er. Your wife's gonna be mad no matter what you buy, so what the heck!
Also the way you fly the 260 you'll be a real IMAC threat with a bigger plane.
