RE: Official Mini-T Thread
I haven't ordered my set-up yet because i am waiting for Castle to release the details on it. I also need to buy a $600 brushless-Lipo system for my xxx cr. But by the end of my summer baseball season the car will be up and running.
With the Hubs I am sure it will even out because I am using the Graphite chassis and the MIP lightweight front axels so i am sure the rear hubs will bring the weight back to that of a stock Mini-T roller if not still keep it under the weight.

Not trying to put them down but i would not have thought you would even save a gram, with the lightweight axles.
I have titanium ones too and unless you have a very accurate scales you can barely tell the difference.
I just ordered the mamba micro pro, as it is the same circuit board (which is great), with a heat sink and cool plastic case.

I got some pics of the chassis, still need to finish off front of top-plate and polish it up.
i connected the top-plate straight to the front bulkhead so i don't need a chassis brace. This chassis is crazy strong, not any play in that, lol.
What do you guys think?
p.s. sorry for the terrible pictures.

Thats a pretty cool pic. I would love to know how that chassis performs.
As for the lightweight axels, I didn't exactly buy them for the weight-saving as much as I bought them for teh durability. Any weight that it shaves off is just considered a bonus to me. Plus I also have the graphite suspension braces (Instead of the metal one that connects the hinge-pins to the Front and rear A-Arms to help save some weight.) I really only got tehm because tehy looked cool and made the truck look more race worthy

RE: Official Mini-T Thread
Hey guys I need some feedback on some heatsink info. I've done some looking around and found many varities of a motor plate type and a motor guard heat sink. I'd like to run both considering both the motor plate and motor get hot but, I was looking to see what heatsink, if anyone is using a motor plate one?

I have had no problems with overheating so i just use the stock motor plate. I think they make ones that have heat sinks on them and they also make the heatsink that goes around the Mamba motor.

WOW Alex that chassis is looking pretty impressive. How much weight does it add compared to the stock? I like that the top plate that spans from the front to the back in one piece. I'd love to see this thing in action. If you can get some vids please post them!!
rmoetken, Try messing with your gearing. I dont see why your mamba is getting so hot pushing a mini T. My only guess is your gearing. I wouldnt worry so much about the motor plate, Heat dispersion is a good thing but it you can eliminate the heat all together with proper gearing.

RE: Official Mini-T Thread
Thanks
its around 50g heavier. The top plate idea was done on the go, i didn't make any plans just drew them on the metal. Well pleased with how that came out.
Will try to get a vid when i get it running, still waiting for mamba. Getting worried.

I ordered a sidewinder micro 5400. I want to put it in my mini baja/mini t. Will it just drop right in since it is a 280 size motor? and also what kind of speeds will i be seeing on a good 6 cell battery? I got the 5400 cause it was cheap, 90 bucks shipped to my house. i wish i could have gotten the 6800 though.

Assuming you got the combo (motor/esc), you should only need to put a battery connector onto the esc (unless it was previously used / done). It would be a simple bolt on upgrade for a Mini Baja since it uses seperate esc / receiver where as for a Mini-T, you would need a seperate receiver, transmiter, and servo since it uses an "all in one".
As far as speeds go, check this link direct from castle creations(makers of the sidewinder):

Yea thanks anyways but i knew all that lol yea i was just wondering if i had to mod the motor plate at all. I already added deans to all my batteries and i guess theres nothing else but waiting. I probably wont put it in my mini baja to start, it will go into my micro rs4 but i jsut was wondering if i could swap it out if i wanted. Darn i need another combo lol[:@]

RE: Official Mini-T Thread
I got my mamba from www.b-p-p.com. Was only $106, shipped, for the micro pro.
The chassis is not much heavier than a fullforce aluminum one.

Hmm they ussualy have great service have you contacted them about it? Theres a chance it is stuck in the import line for the uk because your in england. You might get a letter wanting you to pay taxes on it..
Happend to me before
Rmoet,
To get a higher top speed you want lower gearing and for low end you want high gearing. If your motor, esc, or battery are running hot you probbly have to big of load on them which means you want to lower your gearing... What gears do you have right now?

RE: Official Mini-T Thread
anyone know what to do to make the chassis and bbulkhead more durable other than aluminum? M nephew has broken 2 bulkheads and 1 chassis, at the bulkhead, at low speeds. I plan on getting 2 more for me and my girlfriend so I would like to get the problem sorted out.
thanks

Andrew the gearing I'm using now is a 60t spur and a 14t pionion.

If you wanted more speed, just go to a 15 or higher pinion and it will have more top speed but not to good acceleration.

Okay, well my baja has plently of acceleration now due to my lipo..and I'd like more top end outta this motor, you think a 12t pinion with the 60t spur will do it and keep the motor cool?
