@brianjskora: Nice track, how big do you think it is?

@J0EC00L: Looks kind of funky with red hubs and blue a-arms. [&:]

That's an awesome track skora... I thought you and your brother were working on a track together? Or is that Gforce who has the track with brother??? I could be way off and totally confused.

As for the red hubs, it's no different than red springs or red push rods and toe links though.

It's not I with the track, I thought it was skora as well.

Joecool, now you should get a RPM red front bumper and a blue back bumper for your Merv. I know you already have T-Bone bumpers but the RPM bumpers will fit in place of the stock bumpers even with the T-Bone bumpers installed. I put blue RPMbumpers on my son's Merv. As far as hubs I plan to get some RPM hubs as my HR aluminum hubs have way more play than my son's stock plastic hubs at this point.. My wheels can move a good 1/4" or more sideways. Can't decide whether Iwill get black or red ones for mine.

Hey does anyone know what the stock Brushed MERV gearing is?
I just bought a Brushed setup to pop in mine for winter (I find BL WAY too hard to control on ice + I plan on making it a summit when the parts come out )
I looked on traxxas's site but they don't even mention it from what I saw.

Traxxas Part number 1918 is the stock brushed pinion. The brushed motor has a smaller shaft, so the brushless pinions wont work either.

Havent seen anyone downgrading motor, why not just take it easy? Not trying to pick on you, just curious... Also if you have a 2.4 ghz controller, you can just adjust your throttle expo and it wont spin out like crazy if you dont want to.

well few reasons actually.
One is I don't have the VXL system I got a HW ESC in mine, had to put the ESC in the battery box location, reciever in the ESC location, and for winter I'd like waterproof. I got the full brushed setup dirt cheap too

Chances are I'm gonna get another roller and make one a full time summit(when the parts are available) and leave the other as a revo speed demon though.

Funny enough I have 3 of those pinions sitting in my parts box already from other RC's, and I was thinking of trying it before I asked, Thx made my job ALOT easier

Cool, brushed may be better for summit anyway if going low speed, crawling type.

yup
Figured I could make a brushed summit for way under what traxxas is going to charge for the brushless one

What is a good cheap replacement esc for the mini revo. I think mine is shot. It works the steering servo but not hte motor. I just recently purchased this and didn't have it set up right. I ran 4s on the 28t pinion. This time around it wont happen when I get it fixed for my son. It will be tooooo fast for him. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

well I got a HW 35A ESC in mine.
Had to swap the location of the radio and ESC though to make it fit, which kills its waterproofing.

Did you run the 4s in series or parallel?
Cause if it was series you put way too much voltage into it. If parallel it shoulda been fine.

For a cheap alternative, I second the HW 35a, I had one and it worked great.

I run 1/10 sidewinder in my rc's now. I havent had one fail yet, so Im loving the sidewinder if you can spend $70

Track video, small track so theres no high speed but its still a blast. I think some guys were asking size, I still havent measured it, but its probably about 40 wide and 120 long. I could be way off.

Wow just looked at the 1/16 summit's part list. Here is the GRAND total of all the changes (seriously)
7215 (front & Rear body post set)
7235 (front & rear bumper set)
Body
tires

7132r is also standard which was listed as an option part on the revo. (looks only like the rear arms flipped in the manual)

other than that part for part they are the same
Looks like I'll have an extremely easy time converting a revo to a summit

Does anyone have a spare esc for the merv? I would be willing to purchase for trade for some merv tires/wheels or mini lipo.  Where can I get the Hobbywing esc? Let me know. Thanks

http://www.hobbypartz.com/hobbywing-...hless-esc.html
$30 free shipping

http://www.hobbypartz.com/led-progra...hless-esc.html
Programming card $7 not needed but makes it 10,000X easier to program

How I have mine setup.
ESC where the radio box was, RX where the stock ESC goes.
kills the waterproof part of the revo, but it works damn well imo.

Thanks for the info on the esc. How does the motor wires hook up between the motor and esc? I am grateful for all the help. Thanks

plug in. the bullets on the 35A esc are the same size as the connectors on the vxl motor.

only thing you will have to do is solder on a traxxas male plug for the battery.

We got our first and hopefully only taste of snow today.  The trace we got last night and the freezing temps basically shuts or slows the Portland area down.  lol  Which meant a no school day for my son and a day off for dad.    So we got the Mervs out for a little ice drifting at a nearby parking lot.  Anyone else enjoying their Mervs in the snow or ice?
