Does anyone know where I can get plans or a kit for a Lockheed Electra? My Daughter's class will be studying Amelia Earhart this spring so I've got a couple of months to build a respectable model and then fly it for the class in the schoolyard. If push comes to shove, a DC3 might do just as well as I could modify the tail to make it a split rudder.

A Beechcraft Model 18/C45 Expediter could be bashed into an Electra. RCM has a plan for a pair of .15s. Plan #397.
Here's a link to a 3-view of an Electra.

Oh, that Electra. There was a four engine type of same title quite popular in the 1960's.
The Electra as used on the circle the globe attempt was drawn up via Cleveland models in the late 1930's. They later on issued a rubber powered kit.
The Beechcraft has the benefit of a few years of experience behind it, but other than twin engines and tail bears little resemblance to the Lockheed product. The Hudson comes closer.
There had been some talk at the Multi-engine forum here about the Electra, but the postings got intertwined between the four engine and the two engine name, and then the Beech too.

Actually, a Beech 18 could look like an Electra 10E. Stretch the nose and reshape it, stretch the tail, stretch the h/stab span and it looks pretty close. I looked through my stuff and could only find a Ventura, which is an enlarged Electra 14, which is a modded Electra 10 (Super Electra) I've attached a pic of the Ventura and also here's a link to the Cleveland Electra 10 plan that William mentioned.

(Oops, can't link direct to the pic and the plan. Use the search tool - Lockheed, then Airliner/Cargo then Golden Age.)
