Default Laumer Sci Fi book offer

“. . . We’ll return to our regular forum in a moment but first a message about literature. Say friends, do you wish you had a good book to read while your Ambroid glue is drying. Well, if you are among the first two people who respond to this special offer we will send you, free of charge, one Keith Laumer science fiction novel. No, this is not one of his famous innovative model airplane designs but a genuine work of fiction as read by millions of normal people everywhere. Because we expect demand to be great, this offer is limited to one per household.
But wait.
If you act before midnight tonight. . .”

We interrupt the preceding interruption to explain that I have “The Stars Must Wait” and “Star Colony” paperbacks that I would be glad to send to someone(s) who, like me, had not read any of his works before. I make this offer to provide the opportunity for those of us among the small-(model)-minded to enjoy the other side of this talented person. If I get only one response I will send them both to that person. Otherwise, the first response will get what I consider the better of the two. PM me with your real mail address if you’re interested.

Disclaimer; I will not disclose your name and/or real address to anyone – unless tempted by promises of money – no matter how small the amount.

“. . . Returning now to our regular interruption, if you act before midnight last night, we can make the amazing offer of two “rapid-fire action novels” by Grant Stockbridge, originally published in 1937 and 1940, in one paperback volume. These are part of the Master of Men series. This easy read reminds one of the Shadow radio programs that we all listened to before TV! Anywho, PM me if you’d be interested in it.

Postage and handling subject to international monetary fluctuations, currently free dollars and nothing cents. Now back to this week’s exciting episode. . . “

He was THAT Laumer? Never made the connection. Didn't he also paint outerspace 'scapes?

I'm actually reading Star Colony right now. Anyone who likes SF and hasn't read any of Laumer's stuff should take Ramond up on his offer.

Some of my Laumer favourites are:
Galactic Odyssey
Dinosaur Beach
A Plague of Demons
Planet Run
The Great Time Machine Hoax

Yes, THAT Keith Laumer. I grew up reading and rereading his James Retief: Ambassador to Space stories and other novels. My first really successful R/C plane was a slightly enlarged version of his .020 FF "Buttons" with ACE pulse propo with the small Adams twin actuator and a Baby Bee in the nose.

I don't know about Laumer as a painter of SF scenes, but his novels were often graced with covers painted by an artist named Chesley Bonestell.

Holy Guacamole Hans Solo, I had no idea he was so prolific! I was never really deep into SF in my literary past but I would have thought the name would have caught my attention in the used book stores before now.

Anyway, one Laumer is spoken for. The other of his and the quirky but fun MAster of Men is still up for grabs.

Books one and two are spoken for (but recipient of book two said he'd forward his copy after he finishes reading it. Since I know the book two reciever and I know what his mental capacity seems to be - this might take a while unless his nine-year-old helps him with the big words.)

Last chance for "The original web-ster in two rapid-fire action novels! by Grant Stockbridge. Entitled The SPIDER, master of men." How can one resist? I have to say I think there its closer to the Shadow than Spiderman - but I didn't write the PR header.
