Yep, by todays standards of Electric Flight, the banchee is a mid size plane. Kind of in the relm of a 40 size in IC. Good size, but just beginning to get fun.

I can't imagine what he would say if he saw the 35%er with 2 hackers or that 40%er with 4 hackers. He'd be totally amazed.

I like to contact Gary Wright, does anyone has his e-mail and or telephone number?

Greetings from a Banshee-fan from the Netherlands.

[email protected], but be forewarned,.. it might take a couple days for a response. I get a LARGE VOLUME of email, and tend to respond a few times a week rather than every night.

what do you mean "electric plane of that size" . The banchee is actually a rather small plane

Well, for those of us on a budget, this is a 'large' electric plane in 3D terms. I realize planes of every size are now being converted to electric at the Nationals and such, but something with an 80" wingspan on a huge Hacker brushless motor is not feasible for the average flyer. At this point, I can't even afford to convert a Funtana 40 to electric if I want to keep it 3D capable. Anyway, everything is relative, and I was speaking purely from my own point of view. Cheers..

I fly it with the cem motor. I'm using the mec gear box 5:1(it's the highest you can fit with theat motor output shaft, 5mm) spinning 16x8 at around 5,000 rpms drawing 52 amps static. TP gen II 3s3p 6000. I think it was me that says it hover at about 1/2. It auw is just about 4lbs( alot of reinforcements) 16x8 is the max for this motor and GB. 52amps is at its limit. With 10min flight of alot of hovering and punch outs. I use about 4000 mah of batt and the motor is about 115-120 degrees. the other setup i run is the ol hacker C40 6:1 with a 17x8 prop. Draws about 48 amps(58amps with 17x10, too much). It runs hot though. about 140-150 with the same flight pattern.

I am flying my Banchee with a NewMotors 1506/3D with a 6.7:1 gearbox on 12 GP 3300's and an APC 17x10E prop. It will go vertical out of sight and hover at about 5/8ths throttle. The Banchee flies great and the motor is only slightly warm at the end of a long flight.

I want to build one of these. I was thinking about an AXI. Getting tired of gearboxes. I have quite a few 3S Tp 2100 packs that I would like to use if at all possible. New to this larger electric. Any suggestions. Thanks in Advance.

Skyblue,
How much dose that thing weigh with nicads in it?
I'm flying a World "Fun World EP" with a Cem 600 BL-2 brushless, Phoenix 45 and a 3S3P TP-6000 lipoly and all up weight is 3 lbs.
I'm going to switch to a Banshee because the Fun World is sooo fragile but it flies great.

I run a Hacker B50 6.6/1 gear attached and a 4S4p TP 8000 MAH pack to a 17/10 prop . It's the most perfect electric 3D plane I've flown.
