HI,
I'm about to order the new Ikarus Yak 54, my 2208/34 axi looking for home and I would like to know if I should also buy the Shock Flyer Motor Mount for brushless ?
I know I can get the radial mount set and use a 45mm-diameter lite-ply disc but since I already order from ikarus I can get their mount too.

Iβm not sure if I understand your question. The motor mount in the picture looks like the mount from the Ikarus Brushless Power Set (which does not use an AXI motor). Iβm guessing that this will not work with the AXI β¦ canβt say for sure.
I can tell you what I use; it seems to work well. I ordered a carbon fiber mount from www.mjpcarbon.com (click the buttons for Products β¦ then R/C Planes).
I used the AXIRRM-0 style mount. This mount allows you to radial mount the AXI 2208 directly (i.e., without using the X shaped back plate). The only down side is that I had to attached the motor to the mount and then glue the mount to the plane (the motor mounting screws are blocked once the mount is installed).
I also order the AXI radial mount kit β but I only use the prop adapter (kind of expensive just for a prop adapter). This set up has been holding up really well.

Look at post #12 β I followed imsofamanβs example and mounted my AXI exactly like this (including the carbon fiber tape strips to strengthen the edges as shown) β like I said, works just fine.
I see you are in Israel. Ordering from multiple places probably drives your total cost way up β sorry.

So the shaft of your axi coming out from the plane side ?
I know I can reverse the axi like in the photo I added, I saw in the link you gave me that they do it also.
If I reverse the shaft and use 1/8 inch collar I can use my 3.2 prop adapter that I already have.
Good to know about the fiber mounts, looking good.
I thought I can trim the ikarus mount a little bit so it will fit the axi.

That is interesting that the Ikarus mount will work for the Axi. It looks like the Ikarus mount attaches directly to the nose of the plane. I wonder whether people have good luck with these (does not look like these style mounts have much glue area). Perhaps somebody can comment on how well the Ikarus mounts hold up with an AXI. With a 3 cell Lipo, these little motors produce a lot of thrust for such a light plane.
As for your other comment, yes my motor is reversed β the small shaft points toward the tail, the prop adapter is attached to the opposite end of the motor. I forgot to install the collar - but the motor has not pulled apart yet

MJP Carbon show in the site the motor with the collet 3.2 mm adapter, for this you have to reverse the shaft .

I saw these tiny antennas, nice, I will get one next order.
About the props, I got two new apc and they didn't fit the 5 mm adapter shaft, even with the prop inserts they came, so I took the small one and manually drilled it a bit and it fit perfectly.

I realized that I did not use the collar β¦ after I mounted the motor

I trimmed a tiny bit of the foam to clear the shaft. I then used four pieces of balsa tri-stock to stiffen the entire nose section (top and bottom). So basically I formed a tiny little pocket in the front of fuse to clear the shaft.
So I guess the prop adapter has a hollow bore to receive the shaft. I also guess the shaft provides some strength to the prop adapter since the shaft is hardened.
My setup is working just fine. I fly the thing a few times a week β itβs a great setup. But, Iβll make a point of reversing the shaft on the next one.
Strange that the metric prop inserts did not work for you; mine snapped right in and fit perfectly.

I have found that if there is a space in between the adaptor and the can, exposing the axle shaft....the axle flexes during flight and you get a vibration and loose major RPMs. That is why I change it back to the normal style with the mounting kit. If I were you....I would purchase the mounting kit.....it makes for a more solid performance".

Thanks for pointing out those threads. In my setup, the aluminum prop adapter is very smooth, no vibrations at all.
After doing a bit of reading, it appears that reversing the shaft is not necessary. Look at imsofaman's post number 8 in this thread:

So I must have guessed wrong, apparently the aluminum prop adapter does not have a bore to accept the reversed shaft. It also appears that reversing the shaft requires disassembly of the motor - and perhaps some difficulty removing tiny allen screws.
If I were you, I would do what ever is simplest. I like the radial mount since the aluminum prop adapter works great (even if you have to hand ream the prop insert). You probably can't go wrong with either a modified Ikarus mount or a plywood mount. Too bad that MJP can't ship to Israel - we are spoiled here in the US - low cost mail order shipping is almost always available.
