I had 2 of the 580's. the first 1 went in because the plastic standoffs for the empenage bound and locked the controls. The second lasted a long time with care. A few things to keep in mind with this plane. #1 keep airspeed down, high g's will fold it up as fast as you can blink an eye. That was the end of mine! #2 using an outrunner, a prop saver is a must the wimpy landing gear will let the prop strike the ground. Also this empenage addendum is over complicated, just put the elevator servo and horn on the other side, problem solved. As for as flying it will flat spin awesome, slow flight is stout with the big controls. It does however have terrible coupling. It hovers rock steady, oh yah and again keep the airspeed way down unless you want 90 degrees of dihedral. As stated earlier it does look pretty in the air, I have many photos that look really good.

Yeah, mine was looking good, and POP, sounded like someoone popped a paper bag, and it was at least 15 feet up, spiraled in, caught it at 50 feet, throttled up, and as soon as if moved forward the wings folded again and in she spun. None of the on the Flatana Ill tell you that, My new ultrafly Radix is also a wonderful plane.

remove that ring. I think it is for the "thru the firewall" mounting option.

are you sure!!! i read somewhere that you just need to drill the ply hole bigger to fit ring through so i did someone said if you remove the ring that the hole motor will fall apart as soon as the lock washer wears out .......i hate that rimefire and great planes has no info on this subject.................i hooked my 3 cell 1320 li-po up, to that rimfie it was so fast the plane started to get the shakes lol...........my tribute and yak54f can handle that extra power !!!i have the cap 580 and tribute ready to run the yak was crashed badly .....the power of the 4100kv brushless inrunner w/gearbox is insane compared to the rimfire.........i flew the cap 580 and i used a 2 cell 860 li-po with 9x4 prop well prop too small for that setup and it landed hard after the auto half power esc kicked in so i reprogramed esc to not turn power down and put the 10x3 prop on which rimfire recommends props 10x3.8,10x4.7,11x3.8 for 2 cel li-po
...............8x3.8,8x6,9x3.8 for 3 cell lipo
....so i was using the wrong prop on my 1st flight[sm=idea.gif]

I fly a 9 oz. self designed foamy with 256 squares on the rimfire and 640mAh 3S with an 8x4 to a 10x3.8 and with the 8x4 it hovers at half, and with the 10x3.8 it hovers at less than a third. I don't think I'd want anymore power than that.

(256 squares ) whats that mean ....sounds nice ....i flew the tribute today and wow what a responsive plane that is i miss the yak54f because i built it on the control horns to be not so responsive ...the tribute threw me off and was very nerve recking to fly i think i got a yak54f for x-mass though...cant wait to get my favorite flying plane back
