Just completed initial flight test of Bdavisons Revolution II aircraft and have to say It flys excellent. I received the plane a few weeks ago and have been busy with other projects, but it was well worth the wait. 1st flight needed no trim whatsoever it flew straight as an arrow the plane does groove very nicely although the wind was around 10 mph it bucked the wind extremely well. The next flight the wind layed down a bit and I swapped out to a 9.38 prop from a 9.47 and it was even better lots of power and the plane hovers very well. I used the recommended BP21 with castle 18 esc 306 servo's and 1320 TP pack. Weight ready to fly 11.8 oz. Bryan you have a very good design airplane. I recommend it to anyone who wants a fast pattern style foamy which still can also perform 3d. I will have pictures soon check out www.revolutionaircraft.com Bill

that motor is recommended for use with a 8x4 prop at least on a 3 cell lipo, is that a 2 cell you are using? How are your flight times, motor and esc temp please?

I'm using a 3cell 1320 TP , haven't tried the 8.4 prop the 9.38 really does work good the motor is running slightly warm not hot at all haven't checked temp but I would say around 100-110 degrees. Flight times are 12- 15 minutes 3D flying. I'll try and get some data soon. see ya Bill

Actually we recommend the 9x3.8 APC prop. Its on the website. The 9x3.8 seems to be the best option for good performance.
With that prop it will warm a little, but because the motor is not covered by a cowl or anything it gets enough cooling to keep it cooled off fairly well. Ive flown hundreds of flights with mine in that configuration, and its still running great. If you put that configuration in a plane with a cowl, it will get really hot. Ive tried it.
Im trying to get video of one flying up on the website so you guys can see what it will do. The verticals are unreal. Shove some throttle in it, and pull up and the thing will literally climb out of sight quickly.
You could fly it indoors, but flying outdoors will allow you to take full advantage of its performance and capabilities.
Glad you like the plane Bill.
