I downloaded the construction manual and it looks pretty straight forward except for the wing fillets. Those look like a bit of a pain, but I'll probably just peg mine to the fuselage instead of glueing them to the wing.

One are they needed to improve was the landing gear mounts. If they have beefed that up I will definately buy one.

Im looking forward to the release and liked my buddys mini funtana.. i even bought one but ended up selling it to my buddy when he whacked a parking sign and was able to recover until he found out the hit yanked his elevator extension loose after he powered out of it [X(]. the specs all look very good.. weight/wing area etc.. ive always liked the sleeker look of the funtana and katana style planes and i should have this one after its released/i have to sell off some gear and make room but plan on getting this one.. the price is really good to and i like the larger sized planes that can still run well on tp2100s and regular gear i already have.

Thanks ive been unable to get any video other than the onboard stuff ive posted lately/and ive been getting eaten alive by bugs the last few times ive been to my flying area(makes for very eratic flying while swatting bugs). if all goes well i'll be posting the usual picks and set up info etc/its gonna take quite a bit of my resources to get it set up and id hate to rip apart another plane for gear. i'll try and sell some of my rc stuff dirt cheap to get the funds ready and make room. to make things worse i have the materials for designing my first foamy and i have to get that started.. i have gear for that set up though .

Planned SET UP:
1. spektrum dx6
2. 480 1020kv outrunner/id like to try a hacker A30 as well
3. apc 12x6e
4. tp 2100 prolite(hopefully a couple new extreme 2070s to)
5. hitec hs 65's
6. Optional: ice cold nerves to fly the snot out of it while im freezing out here in november

if all goes well i should be attending I-Hobby 2006 in late october and get a close up look at it and have some video's and pics from the show to post .

Hey guys, thinking of getting the Funtana X as soon as it comes out, I've got the 480 but thinking of getting the 10 E-Flite. Wondering if this will be a good set up. New at flying 3-D till now only profile and foamies, but dying to step up to bigger and better planes. I was looking into the Banche-E, Seagull's Extra300, but I think I will wait for the Mini Funtana X.

I'm with you guys. I can't wait for this plane to come out. I have the X50 and love it. I'll be transferring my 910kv Park 480 from my badly beaten Precision Aerobatics Katana Mini. It should knife edge out of this world with the SFG's. My X50 needs a little brother.

Definitely awesome, and can't wait to pick one up. I can't say that I was a huge fan of the original Funtana but I saw this one fly and it looks awesome. In regards to putting an Eflite 10 on it I think that is a little overkill and the 480 will do most fine. But, I guess you can never have too much power, lol! This one seems to definitely have an aerobatic advantage over the old with the much greater wing area. I have a Precision Aerobatics Katana and I think this will make a good addition next to it in the hangar.

I ordered all the required set up equipment, and I am looking forward to hearing from Horizon soon. This definitely looks like it will be a winner. The slightly larger wingspan(43") is impressive and will fly much better in mild winds I'm sure. Mid November is next week! Can you say "Yah baby"?!

Last weekend I went to the JR Indoor Challenge in Columbus, Ohio and they (David Payne) was flying this model and it was sweet. I can't wait for it to come out. David was flying his with the 480 and 40A SC and Eflight S75 Servos. He was also using the Prolite 1320 packs for indoor. Areobatics were amazing and it was lite and BIG! I wish I got some pics for you all but I forgot my camera. He said the only thing that is the same with the old one was the name.....

Sorry Arasdaddy you couldn't hold out. I handed my wife the credit card and said to hide it till my Mini Funtana X made it to our door! Horizon pushed the date back to late November now. [:'(] Dohhhhh! I decided to go with the recommended set up that Horizon suggested. All the ordered components came in now, and I am just waiting till the plane comes in. I will try to load some pics and comments on how it builds and flys. I have no doubt it will be a winner, as I have purchased a couple planes from Horizon: Alpha 40 trainer, Aresti 40, Typhoon 3D, and Blade CX. I have gotten excellent cust. service from these guys.

I'm still picking up the Funtana X as soon as it comes in, good thing they pushed it back, this gives me more time to save my pennies. I also have the Ultimate from Ultrafly, this one I'm thinking of exchanging for the Funtana X, my hobby shop said it would be OK.

You should definitely trade em out if the LHS will let you. I have the Brio by Eflite and if the Funtana X exhibits the same good flight characteristics, it will be awesome. In fact, it will be better for 3D than the Brio. I have one project to be completed right now, but it's going to be next.

I was checking out the Brio, and it also looks like an awesome bird. How does it 3D? I see it is pretty much similar in set up to the MFX. How is it for flying and landing? I see it will be any day now before I find my MFX package at the door. It's a good thing too, as my wife is getting used to me not having my credit card. I went out and got my fix this morning with my Typhoon. Weather was around 25 degrees with the wind chill, but you don't feel the cold when your burning up the sky! I should be good till tomorrow. Happy flying!
