Hello. I have been flying nitro and gas for years but need a small electric to practice 3D. I think I am getting the E Flite Mini Edge 540. I do not know too much at all about electrics. I already have:
E Flite 480 BL Outrunner Motor
Align 35 Amp Brushless ESC w/ governer mode 5V BEC
2-3 Cell Li-Po Balancing Charger, 0.65A
E Flite Micro Receiver
4 E Flite Sub Micro Servos
Will this combination of electronics work? Also, what battery should I get? Is www.cheapbatterypacks.com a good site to order the Lipo battery pack I need? Anything else I should be aware of?

Looks like you are ready to go.
Thunder Power is definitely the way to go. I have ordered from that website in the past. They are good, a higher shipping cost though.
I have recently started selling product for Thunder Power on my online store. Check out the link below. Free shipping on the pack you will need - TP2100SPL - 3 cell 11.1volt Pro-Lite Series LiPo

Thanks a lot for the help. Will my ESC work? Yes it is a heli ESC though. Here is the link to it: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=AGNE35G[link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=AGNE35G]http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=AGNE35G[/link]
fliprob17, I will check out your site and probably buy that battery.
Also, is there any misc. items I am missing like connectors for the electronics?
Thanks for your help everyone

It says it has fully programmable functions. So you should be able to set it up for an airplane I would presume.
However, I just read through the manual and it says that the ESC can handle 2-10pole motors. The Park 480 is a 12pole motor. So I would not use it with that motor. It looks like you will need a different ESC. Castle Creations Phoenix 25 would work or you can check out Great Planes Silver Series 25amp or 35amp, or the E-Flite 25amp Pro or the 40amp V2.
What is the model number on the servos you have? And looking again at that charger, it is only rated at a 0.65 or 650ma max. charge rate? It is going to take you about 2-2.5 hours to charge a single 2100mah battery with that charger.
You will need a matching male and female connector for the ESC and the battery. I always use the Deans Ultra. Male goes on the ESC and female on the battery. The motor comes with male bullet connectors installed and matching female for your ESC if you need them.

The model number of the e flite servos I have is S75. They are sub micro and rated at 17.2 oz/in torque @ 4.8 volts.
So now I guess I need a new ESC, charger, battery, and connectors right?

Sorry for the late reply. So I definately should not use the Align ESC I have? I will go with probably a different 40 amp one like the E flite V2 40 Amp.

2. Those servos should be ok. If you have something else to use those servos in, and don't mind spending a little $$'s, I would recommend the HiTec HS-65 with the Karbonite gears. They will just hold up better to the 3D application.
3. You definitely need a new ESC. The charger you have will work, but it will take a very long time at that mah rating. You will need a 2100mah battery for sure, and some connectors for the ESC and the battery.
