How does it land? With 425 squares of wing area....seems like it may glide good or fly with just a tad of power on. Mine is on its way here in the big brown truck. Thanks Capt,n

it seems like you have to fly it in because it wants to hover when no power is applied but that could the way i have it balanced. mine is a bit more forward of what the book recommended.

How long of flight can you get with a 1200-1300 mah lipo? I hope to get 12 min or more by doing some easy slow flight!!! Capt,n

not sure i usually dont fly that long maybe about ten minutes on my 1000 mah battery but that will be determined by your power setup.

I got a Scorpion2215-18 motor with x mounting plate. How should I mount this motor to my Cap 232 that uses a stick mount??? Thanks Capt,n[:-]

the kit came with a plastic stick mount that you would put on the back of your motor, do you not have a way to mount with it?

Yup....I got the mount. Somehow it got misplaced!!!!!! I may need to drill the center hole in mount. My Scorpion motor has a collar on it that is .309 dia. The hole in mount is not quite .200. Seems like it should be OK to drill it out to about 5/16 or .3125. Any other Ideas?? Thanks Capt,n[:-]

I just finished mine up 2 weeks ago. Park 450 motor, electrifly 25A esc, electrifly 910mah 11.1 lipo. I forget the servos I'm using but I had to enlarge the servo openings for them. I THINK they're HS-65s.

I pirated the radio out of my destroyed F-27C Stryker.

It flies great, real light. Getting 7-8 minutes out of the pack. I have a TP 1320 pack I'm going to use, it's even lighter than the 910 Electrifly pack! That should give me around 11-12 minutes.

It doesn't seem to like to glide, gotta fly it in with nose down then flare. I think because of the weight it just doesn't hold it's forward momentum well, and the prop probably acts as a pretty good brake.

I weighed it and I believe I got 540 grams auw. Heavier than the max weight listed on the box.

fiveoboy01: Will the Cap232 stay at altitude on low throttle? I was hoping to extend flights a little with slow flight. I got to get her done. Do you have any tips on gluing? Thanks Capt,n Forgot to ask..will moving battery (CG) forward change the tail down on landing?

It flies fine on low throttle. It's just if you shut it off that it loses a lot of momentum.

You will have to play with the battery pack position to get the results you want with the CG. If you use the velcro to hold it on, you do have a little bit of room to move it fore and aft.

Update....I called the company who makes the Sirrus Smart charger some time ago.....they say it will not work for Lipos. Now I am learning about how to balance the Lipo packs with a "blinky" Capt,n[X(]

I did away with the stock stick mount. I will post a photo of the new one I made. It made for a better balance , plus I can mount more kinks of motors easy. Capt,n

looks good. looks like you have bent your gear a few times as well. i do that all the time as well. i usually bend them back at the field when i am flying.

Yes I bent the gear too many times. I think I will take them off and install a wire skid device to see how that works. I am landing in snow now...not too much of a roll out!!!!! It is fun to fly...but I got to be in one of my "faster modes" to fly it. Guess I am getting OLD! My Grandson has a Edge Airfoil Z which is a lot more durable plane, but mine looks better. I may trade it for a new kit at the hobby shop. Noy sure though. It is getting colder here today...may not get another flight before big deep freeze this week-end! Capt,n

REPLY: The blinky is a device sold by Commonn sense RC. It is pretty neat. It will work with 2-6 cell Lithium Polymer Pacs. Go to www.commonsenseRC.com how are you doing with the balancer you have? Best Regards, Capt,n P.S. Listen to the why you should balance on that site.

have done quite well with the balancer finally figured out how to use it after reading the manual. i have a triton charger it plugs in i press the button and it balances as it charges. i made a charging canister for my lipos. i found this tea i drink on occasion comes in a tin so i saved a few of them and cut a hole in the top to let the battery sit in while charging.
