Summer.

I know you don't need my answer about the prop but for anyone else I use a 12x6 or 11x3.8 APC.

I had noticed some comments about wing folding on the Reactor, with comments about the weak center doubler, then I noticed there have been several updates to the joiner listed on Tower Hobbies product page.

They show a manual 1, 2, 3 and 4, the revision 4 substantially increases the amount of support with 2 plywood doublers in place of the original balsa doubler, so Great Planes has definitely been listening to their users.

Yes, they had been listening. But the area of the doubler is not the only part that people had problem with the wing folding. In many of the cases was that there wasn't a strong bond in the area were the wing join the fuse.

Do you apply glue to the root ribs also?

YES, all you can get in there...............................BTW, if you use the 35-30-1250 motor, it wouldn't hurt to use some CF reinforcement in the stabilizer...............if not, and you try to run at high speed, it will flutter..................ask me how i know.

all in all though this is a nice flying airplane.
i'm currently drawing up some plans to do a 49" version and power it with a Torque 2814-820 for 4S power with a 12x6 APC or Xoar prop.
the Reactor has a very good basic layout, and will do 3D or Pattern flying with ease.

I have a 35 30 1450 sitting here. I'm looking at this plane and the GP Edge 540. Thinking about scratch building a profile also.

i saw the Edge 540 from GP at my field a few weekends back...........much stronger than the Reactor.
the Reactor really is a sweet flyer, and very forgiving..................it just needs to be completely revamped and then it would be a winner.
if it were me, i'd get the 540. once you build a Reactor you'll never want to again................the wing assembly is not so easy as it looks.
i posted some pictures of my build a page or 2 back. i did one panel at a time as i found it to be more accurate than trying to line up and epoxy both panels at the same time..
then if that's not enough, stuffing all the electrics in is a tight situation, let alone getting the battery in and out.
