I just put the first flight on my UCD tonight and it tip stalls badly! I'm using a Saito .100 and the c.g. is right on the money. I am using the rates they describe in the manual and I'm having tip stall at any setting above the lowest rate. I keep reading about how everyone is moving the c.g. back to 6", I would think this would exasperate the problem! Any thoughts? Thanks, Pete

Have you checked the lateral balance?
Have you checked the elevator halves? Are they traveling at the same rate and distance?
What thrust line are you using on your Saito? How much right thrust and up thrust?
Just a few ideas off the top of my head.

One more thing I thought of...
If you are using the stock push rods that came with the ARF, the longer one is probably flexing more in flight than the shorter one. That would cause the elevator halves to move at different speeds. Try using 4/40 steel rods instead of the 2/56 weak aluminum ones that come with the plane.
Just another thought.

U-CAN-DO .46 tips? (post # 1)
i just bought the u-can-do .46. it is a great plane but there are some problems with there hardware. i have done alot of reading and i mean alot on the u-can-do. and it seems that if you use standard servos such as the futaba 3003 or 3004 you can get ALOT of flutter if you have any slop. but you can stop that if you up grade the hardware. i did not use their push pull rods. i upgraded them to 4-40s. then i put carbon fiber over the 4-40 rods. then instead of normal clamps i put ball links. dont use their control arms they flex way to much and cause a ton of slop. use something else. when you use and install your CA hinges. make sure that there is no gap in between the surfaces and the wings or stab. make sure the CG is in the right.

Thanks guys. Looks like I have several things to try. I am using ' 605's all over and using 4-40 rods. I did use the stock horns though. I'll try the gap seal trick and I did notice that one elevator half is slightly different height than the other. I post when I get results. Thanks, Pete
