Default Cowl material 3d hobby 540 edge

Anyone know what material the cowl on 3d hobbies model 540's are made of? Going to reinforce the cutouts for engine. I'm thinking Epoxy.

It's most likely Polyester. Warm it up slightly with a heat gun, if it gives off an odor, it is poly. If not then it's epoxy. Either way you can do what you need to do using epoxy, just rough up with 100 grit and clean with alcohol.

I wouldn't have thought that they use Poly in china. I hope so, I would rather use it. Thanks for responding and I will do the smell check tonight.</p>

A slower epoxy maybe less brittle, in some cases a TPO adhesion promoter (autobody store) may help with bond, but likely not necessary if its non oily and clean.
