Now THAT is one sexy looking scheme. cant wait to get some piccies of the finished article.
Stratman..... Our Moki powered one (also 135) goes very very well too on a BCM pitts muffler. We selected the APC 17x8 prop however and I think its perfect. That model has 2 x elev servos, totalling 5 x S3305 all round.... the one we will watch for blow back is rudder. This uses a 6V pack to get the best out of the 3305s.
As Baron and Dave points out - you need a good quality pack to cope with potential demand and if you have a good clean set up then your discharge and duration will related directly to how much welly you give it..
Weather here is still totally sh1te.. unbelieveable - where did summer go ?
Meeting tomorrow night so we hope to get some pics of the Jersey pair together. I will post some....
Stratman..... dot forget to email some finished shots to IH for the site.........

For anyone interested in doing a pipe tunnel still giving ample access to all the gear inside the fuz, this is how i have done it. am prepared to give another 140ex owner a race to see how quickly you can get the pipe and hatches off.

nice work.
i was worried about the carbon rod in the first pic but the second shows it's ok. Carbon and ehat don't mix, that why you can't put solar film on a IFO, snap.

Finally got some time to come on RCU
Anyway, if all goes well should have mine finished on Saturday
. Nearly finished covering the stab and elevators, then it is setting them up, doing the plumbing, and installing the rx, battery, canopy and cowl. May even get a chance to fly it on Saturday, but won't fly it on Sunday as it is our Clubs 30th aniversary, place will be far too crowded to risk pride and joy.
Talking of the cowl, I am not happy. So much for RC Colours paint matching profilm, it is completely different. Still too late now, but it does mean the plane will not look anything like as good as it should [:'(].
The other thing I am not happy about is the Futaba digi servos. You pay all that money and they cant be bothered to included any screws, let allone decent controll horns other than the useless small disk. And the screw to hold the horns on is very soft, already stipped it just taking it out a putting it back in again once. The Hitec digi I have got is far better for these little details that make all the difference.
Stratman, that is looking a fantastic scheme
. I must get more creative with my own scheme.

I have noticed the standard of covering on the 50's and 140's is very high. Gonna have to keep on my toes
Nice job Statman. Got any weights for us?
Luke like the pipe tunnel.
BTW. Have you blokes got any idea how many hours youve spent to build your models??

Actually it has not been too bad. If you think I got it in feb, and only spent a couple of hours two or three nights a week, plus some weekend time, it has not been bad at all. April and May were largely washed out for me (six day weeks and long days in the office), March and June lost over 3 weeks due to holidays.

Far far too many.
Thinks its going to be a real push to get mine ready for a week or two's flying practice before the freestyle comp.
I'm on the brink of paying my dad £5 an hour to finish the damn thing quickly!

I'll do picks when finished
.
Hmm estimate time:
Fuz including fin: 20 hrs
Wings including ailerons: 12 hrs
Rudder, elevators, Stab: 8 hrs
So not much really. Say another 40 hrs for covering, and another 20 hrs for finishing off (installing engine, radio etc) and you are looking at about 100 hrs all in. Seems very good for such a big model, but it is really straight forward to build. Of course the only alteration from standard has been the plug in tail, but as it comes with carbon tube for the back end, that was very easy and did not take up much time. I'm sure that Luke for example has spent a lot of time getting that silencer and hatches to fit and work.
Also the finishing off has been very quick so far. Everything has gone on very easily so far, usually I have to redo everything at least twice to get it to fit or work properly.

But the designing of it took quite a while. I'd estimate about 10hrs extra to the build.
However, everything has also been filled, sanded, sanding sealed and sanded to the nth degree which has taken longer.

Not sure on weight yet as I am waiting to borrow digital scales from a friend. What is the weight of the other Moki 135 version that you were talking about in an earlier post?. I don't think it is gonna be that light with the heavy ali mount and the pitts muffler.
Even though the Moki and the YS are similar in weight, I think the difference in exhaust & mount is the deciding factor. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Extra bits for the plug in tail:
- Two more carbon rods/tubes
- DB Sport and Scale plug in wings attachment (using the same on the wings)
Anyway, what CoG are those of you who have finished ended up with?
