That has been asked many times, but as the Capiche 50 thread is so big I don't blame you asking in a separate thread.
Basic answer is no, though I beleive a US distributor is planned, they can bearly keep up with demand in the UK.
International orders are handled by Carbon Copy http://www.carboncopyuk.com/ Not cheap when looking at the price in dollars from the other side of the Atlantic I'm afraid.

I am ready for this thing to get over here so we can find out if these UK guys know what they are talking about or if its all hype. I am getting kinda tired of seeing capiche threads. They always say the same thing. "Capiche is superior bla bla bla, Capiche is the best bla bla bla". I wonder how the Capiche will do when matched up next to other 3D planes.

Yeah, I started to read through the big thread and just got tired. I have looked at the kit they offer in the UK and it does look like a quick build. Hard to believe it will out do some of our 3D birds, though it would be a nice change of pace and a much nicer lokking plane then some of the common ones over here. So many of the 3D machines over here either look like a deformed pattern plane or else the wing is thick enough to stick your arm in.

Ian, in dollars it is going to be around $250+ including the shipping, that is a lot to pay for a 50 size kit when you compare with the competition (eg $150 or so for a Seduction Freestyle), and it is only a kit, not an artf.
In the UK we are used to paying over the odds, doesnt seem to work anywhere else.
Personally I think the US needs a manufacturer rather than a distributor, sourcing the materials locally and producing on a licence basis. But that is far too much business talk for RCU.

Looks like you can get the Capiche 50 plan(£10.25) from here(They ship to US too):
http://www.modelflying.co.uk
I am not sure wheather or not they are the same plane though.
Does anyone know how much it will cost to have it last cut from the plan here in US?

I think I will pass on paying the extra money
Thats a lot of cash for a kit. I would have over $300 in it by the time it was done. I would rather fly the extreme flight Yak for that price (still not sure of the price of the yak but I got a feeling that it wont be too much different than the extra???)

Yeah those are super sweet. I want that one bad but budget wise I am gonna have to settle for the smaller one when it comes out in december(which should be priced lower than $650)
. I saw the smaller one fly a demo this past weekend and it was super sweet. There is a video of it on the Extreme flight website.

Hi Folks...for the avoidance of doubt I am involved with Island Hobbies who do the C50.
I am relieved to see a new thread on the C50 that aint so big...
anyway..
As the likes of Central Hobbies will tell you about ZN Kits (we import them too) getting big boxes to the US aint cheap. Large quantities is the only way and lets be real, most of the US are not interested in building a model of this size, they would rather take a far east artf... of which there are many of reasonable quality. (Just wait til they get a handle on the C140ex!)
To an extent..... the British market has expressed similar feelings about the cost of the C50 kit (although you can choose what goes in the box so you can save as much as you like) as a full deal... especially when it is a kit !!!
BUT.... I cant tell you how many emails IH has had saying things about how quick it goes together, how ingenious the design is from a build perspective, how refreshing it is to be able to choose what goes in your kit, how straight and light it builds. and thats before flying...
At the flying stage, they all say it is totally worth the money... "I can do stuff I didnt know I can do" "Totally controlable" "my club mates think Im ace" "The dogs danglies"
Now, of course you will think Im a little biased.... But I am involved becuase I got to fly the proto and quite honestly I realised I had myself lost my way on the path of ARTF models of this size over the past few years... I can quite honestly say that for the first time in years I would be gutted if My C50 got smashed..... and I would have no hesitation assembling another to replace it.
It is gathering momentum in the UK because;
Folks are realising the kit is an easy build and the weight targets are easily achieveable
It flies different..... and they like it..
Normal folks can fly stuff they cant normally fly....
3D and Artsitic Aero folks are amazed ar how grown up it is...
Truly... the first 50 side pattern plane that looks nice, and does 3D with attitude...
All that said... and we often comeback to this vs USA... it is not a fun fly ... it is more like a Mini TOC model...... but a Fun Fly wing is due soon. We in the UK tend to call 3dFun Fly your 3D. Hence I agree with
Classic and so true...

Since the kit is CNC cut, there is no tool to be made and it can be reproduced anytime anywhere using ethier CNC or Laser. I would like to see it manufacutured locally so we don't have to pay extra shipping and Tax. Please consider licensing it out so we can all enjoy a great design.

I tend to agree with Localbuyer, the most logical way to market the kit in the states would probably be to license it to be made over here. Archie is right too, most Yanks aren't willing or don't have time to build a kit, especially when there is an abundance of arfs (artfs) available built in the orient that are just so dam cheap. Personally I enjoy the satisfaction that comes with building a kit and having it fly better then the stuff my buds are flying and when I am done it is unique as I made the decisions as to how it winds up looking and the options that it carries. I also appreciate the confidence that comes with knowing that the joints are glued properly and the plane is square.
My building table is a little too full right now to worry about this one too but after the holidays I may well order the kit or (more likely) order the plans and have a kit cut by one of the local companies that specialise in that sort of thing. The plane really does appear to fly very well and cloesly resembles what I would create if I had the talent to do so.
I will say this though, the plane is the perfect size for me. I prefer planes that will fit in my vehicle in one piece, or at least don't require more then a few minutes of assembly at the field. My quarter scale and up planes wind up collecting a lot of dust while the smaller ones get worn out due to the convienience of transporting and minimum of hassle at the field.

I sent a note to the RCU admin guys about the last page of the thread. Not much use being able to post, but not see the posts!
Perhaps the thread has got too big! I notice it is now way past the UCD 60 thread.

C'mon guys, just fly the thing with no fear and order a new one when you plow it in. If your scared of crashing then your not getting the full enjoyment out of it.
