Was wondering if any general consumers have gotten the Mini 3D from Extreme Flight?
If so can we have a flight report :-)? I can't seem to be able to run there video's.
Do you think a Saito 40a that weighs 10.5 oz be OK on it? What do you think of how to mount it any problems?
How about Hitec 225 MG servo's that weigh .75 oz? Too heavy?
I have these available soon and thinking of this plane down the road.
Thanks, Dennis

Word is they are do in anyday to Extreme Flight...
The HS-225's would be too much IMHO... You wanna jeep this thing light...
HS-85MG's would be a good choice.
Here is a link to a site that Wayne Geffon posted some great vids... you'll have to register first, but no big deal... just click the link again when done...

Chris told me that they should be in his shop tomorrow.
Try these direct links to the Mini's videos.

[link=http://www.mw3d.com/albums/album06/Mini3D002.wmv]# 2[/link]
If you cant view them, try an update to your media player. You should be using version #9
You can get that here.

If after all that you still have problems, let me know. I can send you a CD with the videos on it if need be.

Looking forward to it, I've got one on order as well. Went out and got the OS25LA, Hitec 6ch Spectra Rx, 4xHS81, 1xHS55 servos and a 270mAh batt. for it. I'll try an apc10x3 first. This plane will probably live in my truck and see as much or more air time as my larger gas models.

Thanks, for the offer of the cd Wayne, I'll just wait for it to be ready and look out for the other's thoughts on my equipment.
Prefered to use what I got but might have to buy some stuff for it to have a little lite plane to take to smaller fields.
Thanks, Dennis

Hey Dennis, how do you think these smaller planes will do in the winter winds we have down here? I fly the .40 size fun flys (profiles) and to try and hover or do anything close to the ground and the winds play a big part. What I'm asking is do you really think smaller will work well in the winds we have that blow all winter down here? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a bad thing, just asking your opinion.

This is a very nice plane. I am really thinking of getting one. For those that have one coming, please keep me informed of your thoughts of the plane. I like the idea of spending less for a nice plane. I have a SPA3D with an OS 46FX up front which does all the 3D stuff you want to do, but doesn't actually fly well at all. This Mini-3D plane seems it will harrier as well as the SPAD.
Again, please keep us posted of your experience with this plane. Pros and Cons are appreciated also.
Thanks,
DTB

RC Junkie, I am very inexperenced in this hobby, and fly not too ofter until my house remodel is done this coming march april.
But yes the winds will be a concern during those times I'm thinking of the long haul planning for my new saito 40a that I'm going to take of my 25 size funfly later when the 32 os comes back from fixing.

I bought one yesterday
I saw the prototype 6 months ago and have been waiting for it ever since.
The owner of my LHS called his version the Showtime 3D but it looks like the same plane. Unfortunately his shipment still hasn't come and it's been 6 months. I was not able to hang around the field that day to seen the plane fly but his reports and reports from others who saw it fly were very good. Great plane to keep in the car for lunchtime flying. I wish I had more details.
I'll probably order a spare.

The last communication I had with Chris was that they were due in his shop middle of last week.
I havnt talked to him since then so I dont know if anything has changed.
I did speak to someone else who has one on order and he thought he'd have it very soon from talking to Chris.

I just got off the phone with Chris, I placed my order for one of these. He thinks it'll ship tomorrow... I've got a Norvel 25 going in mine and four Cirrus CS12 servos (HS 81 clones).
This should be some fun.

Hey Guys, I was finally contacted by the local trucking company and they confirmed a delivery time of 8 am Friday morning November 28th. We will begin shipping immediately that afternoon. Sorry for the delay. Hope you guys enjoy this plane as much as we are. Looking forward to some flight reports from you guys. RCU will be doing a review of this plane shortly, so stay tuned.

I'm building mine now and everything looks very solid. All the parts were double packed and it'll be easy to put together. I think the best setup for this plane is an OS 15 CVA with Hitec HS 81s. They say you can use HS 55 all around, but I don't think it's enough. This plane will find a permanent home in my car trunk!

The plane's colors look great to me.
Those that just recieved it would the Hitec 225 fit ok ? or would be too big? I know there heaver.
If your planning a .25 size My Saito 40a at 10.5 oz including muffler is not that more of a streech?
What say you, those of you who just got it?
Looks like I'm goint to work the holidays for OT to get mine :-).

It's different. the plans come on a CD. The firewall is not installed.... You end up building a "power pod" that inserts into the plane. This pod holds the engine, throttle servo, tank and maybe the battery too. It ends up being a one piece plane like a profile, but the fuse is a built up diamond shape.
All of this comes through a buddy that got one yesterday. Wish I had one.[&o]

Hi Guys,
Mines on its way to me as we speak. I'm curious what the weights are . Any chance anyone could weigh their kit and post the weights here. One more question. What's the wing area ? Mines gonna be electric so I just want to get a heads up on my power system.
Thanks,
Marc

The key w/ this plane is to keep it light. I would not run HS 225s, they'll add 2.5oz over the 81s. It's not an issue of size, but weight. I'm really surprised with the qualify of this plane. It's build straight and solid. The manual is a joke, but it'll do. You are right on the power pod. The engine, tank, servo, battery... are mounted on the pod and then to the firewall.
Tower sold out of the Hitec flight pack w/ 81s, but Horizon has them.

Any one else have an airframe they can weigh. I did a quick calculation and my whole power system and radio set up could be as light as 12 0z. This is due to the miracles of modern electronics , brushless motors and Lipoly batteries ! Should be fun !

This is a passage direct from the manual:
"This is a great 3D performance Airplane.
All part are weighted and matched .
Every plane net weight between 345g-360g. ( not included accessories parts )
This plane should not fly over 900g RTF. Weight to keep it in highest performance.
Our test model average weigh from 840g-880g. that was depend on what kind of Engine, receiver and
battery you install on the airplane.
And we do not recommend to use over .20 engine for this airplane."
I have the manual in PDF if anyone wants a copy. Just post or PM your email and I'll send it over.
