I am 20.
I have been flying for about a year and a half. Started with a Hobbico Avistar. Crashed first time out. Got the replacement parts and a simulator and thats all it took. Now I fly a Great Planes Dazzler and a TufFlight 4D. I am building a Great Planes Super Skybolt with an O.S. 1.20 and a Sullivan Smoke System and next will be a Top Flite Corsair. Oh, I don't fly the Avistar any more because I managed to crash that again doing stuff a trainer isn't supposed to do.

Wow... there are some young flyers here! That is great, I wish some of you flew at my field where the average age seems like 80!!
I am 42, been flying on and off since 14, now I fly any day I can get the time, which is a lot. I fly all Giant scale gas...

5 years total. Started when I was 14 untill I was 16 and then I met women for a while (STUPID [:@]) Now I try and make time for both. Although I think the planes are winning.

So now Im gonna post an OFFICIAL WARNING TO ALL FLYERS AT THE TINGALPA MODEL AERO CLUB COZ IM 3DING, [sm=drowning.gif] It could be dangerous, but I was thinking about getting my old instructor to give me a couple of supervised lessons.

I'm 27 and I've been flying since I was 5. I took about a 10 year break while I did Drugs Alcohol Raves and Ecstacy... Now that I've settle down from my party years, I'm going back into flying. Taking up pattern flying

It appears from all the posters that the average age of the #3D pilot is around seventeen years old. Most males this age are pursuing the national past time of girl watching.
I have been all this country and parts of Europe and have never whitnessed a gaggle of seventeen year olds at a flying site. The most young pilots I have seen at an informal flying site was no more than three.
Out here on the West Coast the average age would be somewhere between 27 and thirtyfive years of age. If you want to meet all the young people you need to get into R/C cars and trucks.
