So I got my new Flip 3D. Want to put a YS63 in her. But looking at everything I'm having a little trouble figuring out how to mount the engine so the throttle will work.
Anyone who has the YS63 in the Flip - could you describe how you mounted it and ran throttle cable. thanks
Steve

I dont have my flip any more, but if I believe correctly, the engine was mounted inverted, used a 2/56 ball link on the throttle arm. I used a hitec 85 servo (mini) and looking inside the fuse (fuse sitting upside down) I had it on the right side using a sullivan flex cable, worked fine for me, but had to make a little mount for the servo.

I used a Hyde mount to cut down the "drum" effect of the airframe. It also helped give throttle linkage room.
You might find it interesting that the OS 91 header fits the YS 63 and allows the muffler to be routed nicely. I'll post a picture when i wake up tomorrow and take one :-)

Hey Steve
This is how I did it.
You will have to loosen the cap screw in the center of the throttle arm and rotate it where you want it.
I also had to move the rudder servo up front to be able to balance the plane.

If you havn't bought it yet, it will be the newer version which I have in mine. Just mount it straight in upside and put the throttle servo on the side of the carb lever. I didn't have any problems mounting it and the header supplied is a perfect fit for it.

This entire thing turned out to be a piece of cake. I mounted the engine inverted, flip the throttle arm over so it was pointing down (really up) installed the servo tray and servo in stock position. the throttle rod runs perfectly straight to the carb arm just below (above) the wing. I have no idea why they suggest mounting a 4s at 90 degrees.
