Can someone in the know, describe where and when you use spoilerons (elevator with alierons) vs flaperons (elevator with opposite ailerons)?
From what I can determine...
Flaperons are used for tighter elevator 'turns', extra 'float' when landing
Spoilerons are used for harriers, 'pushing' the aircraft down during landing.
Am I wrong? More uses of these mixes? Do you fly and switch between the two?

hi, you're right about the use of flaperons, thats about all they do.you use flaperons also in manouvers such as the wall, square loops, it just gives it that bit omphs.
spoilerons are for harriers, it reduces the chord of wing creating less lift, so you can go slightly faster when you're in the harrier, it's also sometimes called airbrakes by the glider people.
I only use spoileronson my flip for harriers, it walls fine with just elevator.

on my flip I have it so I flick a switch on the tranny and the ailerons pop up and stay there unless I tell it to roll, do you mix them with the elevators or have like I do

Mixed in proportion to the elevator.. im almost certain that this is the best way to do it for 3d however im usre your method has its advantages too.

Just try your mix as spoilerons, then flaperons.. run a couple tanks through and see what you think. The spoilerons give more pop to a lot of maneuvers, flaperons are good for... tight loops.
If you have crazy vertical speed turn on your spoilerons and high rates and jam the right stick forward at full climb speed, as you cut the throttle. It's pretty neat, don't know if that's an actual trademark *3D* move or not. Ends up as inverted elevator but it's cool going over the top.
Just play with it, spoilerons are the way to go but you can drop like a rock, keep it high at first.

i dont think flapperons give lift all the time on all planes.
its true that i use spoilerons for harriers but they give more lift.
flapperons make my plane dive.
whats happening?
i fly a Magic 3D.

Spoilerons give less lift. I once tried to take off my ucando with spoilerons turned on, it never left the ground. I would think harriering with flaperons would wing rock like crazy, if even possible? Sure you don't have it backwards?
100% mix here too.
