If I am not mistaken, it is August 24th starting around 9am. It is an invitation only event with about 10%-15% of the time available for open flying. It is at Camp Jordan Park off of Exit 1 in Tennessee

Hey guys,
Here is some Hotel info for the Chattanooga 3D fly in that will be held August 10 & 11. I am also including link for a map to the field. The flying field is located at Camp Jordan. Once you find Camp Jordan the flying field is very easy to find. There 300 RV sites with water and electricity available right at the flying field. Here is the URL for that. http://www.campjordan.com/rvspaces.html

All the hotels listed are very close to the flying field. The Intown suites at $45 is probably the best deal.
http://www.campjordan.com/map.html#map2

Intown Suites 423-485-0955

Main Stay Suites 423-485-9424

Hampton Inn 423-855-0095
Holiday Inn Express 423-490-8560
Comfort Suites 423-892-1500
Sleep Inn 423-894-5333

These last four are all on Shallowford Rd. right off I-75. This area has plenty of eating places and shopping.

Default Wow...

Last year at our Spring fly-in several of the Chattanooga club guys showed up. They informed us that they were on the verge of loosing their field and woudln't be hosting any events for 2001. They seemed a little down and out (understandably so). Shortly after that, their website got hacked (some real nasty stuff posted on it) and I removed it from the links on my clubs homepage. Their webpage was never re-established (at that address) and I wondered if the club had lost the field and fell apart.

Now I see them hosting a serious 3D invitation event that looks like it will be a real show. And it also seems they have managed to secure their field. Looks like a real turnaround.

Does the club have a new website? This event is less than a month away and it's the first anyone in my club has heard of it (less than 2 hours away in the same state). We don't have any serious 3D flyers, but I'm sure there are several that will be interested in attending the event.

I'll pass this thread on to my club e-mail list as it seems there is no URL or such to point to otherwise.

As of right now we haven't got a conformation from Yuri. Right now there will be 5 of the XFC pilots there plus some of the best 3D and freestyle guys in the US. There will be two rounds of 4 min freestyles plus a 3D clinic explaining the maneuvers as their done. There will also be tons of open flying. It should be a awesome event.
Hope you can make it.
Blaine

Won't be there by noon on Friday. We should be getting there later in the afternoon to check things out. Should be a good time.
