I have a Funtana 40, both tail servos moved next to the throttle servo, OS Surpass 70 w/ 14-4 wood prop, C/G 5-1/2"
I've read all the posts regarding the inadvert roll at the top of an inside loop, and haven't been able to solve the problem. I've been flying for only 1 year and on my 3rd plane, so I'm trying to understand all I can about the hobby.
I noticed that when I do an outside loop it does it perfect. Could this mean that the "roll" only happens as the plane reaches a "stall point" as at the top of an inside loop? And if so, could "Side Thrust" be the culprit?

Anthony, this has been beat to death in several post. I am not flaming you I just hate to type the same thing over and over. Typing for me is a hunt and peck operation at best. The best advice I could give you is to move the CG back. A litle at a time and get used to how it flys with some ALT. When you get back to 6" or so most of the problem will go away. That is if everything is straight.

Hey Anthony. Now I am not going to say that this is the problem with your plane but it was with some of my other planes,ie.. Cap 232's. Too much elevator throw, too much speed and too tight of a loop. The speed may not be as much of an issue. But on some planes if you try to pull too tight of a loop, they will snap out. Hope this helps.

Yep I agree with Richard. I flew a rather big scale Katana over the weekend and it has the same problem only worse than my Funtana. It chuckes a wing quite violently when you pull too much elevator. But then you need all the throw you can get to even think of 3D with it.

No problem Anthony. As your CG goes back your landings will get a little harder. At 6-3/8" you can put a few clicks of down on final. This will put the nose down and let it glide in. Any farther back than that it changes quite a bit. Any ELEV input will raise the nose and stall it out. The best way I have found is to flair at 15ft and use the throttle to harrier it in. That's why I said earlier to go back a little at a time and get used to it.
You original post talked about the inside/outside loop differences. I have been told that's a rudder issue. The rudder is in clean airduring an outside loop. During an inside loop the rudder is shielded by the ELEV/STAB. When you start to do elevators and harriers you will notice a lot of wing rock when upright. When inverted it's stable. This is also a rudder issue.
Can you or have you mixed any spoilerons into your Funtana? They greatly increase some of the 3D manuvers.
Good luck david
