First of all I'm new to this, don't even have my plane yet, so this may be a stupid question.
1.) Anyone try putting the elevator and rudder on the right stick and ailerons with the throttle.
2.) I've seen both ailerons move in the same direction, with the stab. How do they do that?
3.)How many of you are cheating. Say you DON'T use a gyro when in fact you do?

I don't use gyro's. I fly small funflys. But as far as the ailerons moving in the same direction as the elevators are done w/ mixing.
atleast 1 servo per elevator half, mix in by radio that work w/ the ailersons. Can be turned off/on w/ a mixing switch on radio. I have seen this done on only a few aircraft. I don't know the benefits or disadvantages. I just know tht its mixed in.

You have a computer radio I remember...
1. Not sure about mode changes..I think what you are describing is Mode 1..and I think you fly mode II....some radios let you change this in the programming. The main problem I see is re-programming your brain.
2. I use the mixing you describe on a few planes...you have to run a servo on each aileron, but a single elevator servo will do fine. On Futaba I use a 2>6 mix, 1 ail in ch 1, ele ch 2, other ail in ch 6. Then flip a switch for flaperons (ailerons both go down as elevator goes up, both ailerons go up as elevator goes down...like a control line stunt plane) or spoilerons (ailerons go up as elevator goes up, ailerons both go down with elevator going down). Seems like you have a JR, but I'm sure it will do the same thing,, prolly just called something different...ailerons aren't on ch 1 if I recall...
3. Nobody cheats!
Seriously, with these little fun fly planes, ( you are talking the Magic??) I don't think a highly skilled pilot like you
will need a gyro..

Thanks for the info "RITTA Man". My radio is a Futaba6XAs, guess I'll need to look for the book on it. Yep it's a Magic, should get it today.

Sorry, it never crossed my mind that your were asking about flapperons, and spoilerons.
I thought you were asking about for example your left alieron go up and right goes down, the left elevator half goes up, and the right elevator half goes down. In this case, its mixed in like as I explained above. I think it will help the plane roll better.

Never tried ANY kind of 3D yet. If I thought the gyro would help me, I'd get one. One of the guys at my club said that some 3D pilots use them, no big deal . Sounds like I touched a nerve, sorry.

Imac and TOC don't allow gyros, some guys use them in to learn 3-D some don't. I've never used them. the biggest tip I can give you, is to make sure your thrust line is where it needs to be for your aircraft. on my 33% edge I have 3deg of right and 1deg of up. It will sit in a hover almost hands off.
