I am using Ulead Video Studio 9. I just got it and it works really nicely. I played with Adobe Premiere the tryout but I haven't been able to get the exports to a right size, most likely because of the tryout version. Hope you liked the video. I will most likely be flying it this weekend so I will try to post more. I will try to go flat on the spins with 3d rates. Also try to get some square loops, etc. We are too high in Denver to do 3d with this airplane, but I might be able to with a different prop choice.

I love my Dvd-r camera. I got the one with the touch screen flip out monitor, it makes everything so much easier. It also takes 3mp stills, which is better than my old digital camera! I will try to photo some shots of the damage, but most of it is fixed now. Cheers.

Yeppers, sure did. Hope to get that good with this plane. Still kind of intimidated by the moeny I put into it, but one must push himself to get better. Still havent gotten the bolly 19x8, but plan on doing so sometime in the future. I am currently in between jobs so right now isnt the best time.

the plane does a knife edge spin good, wait it seems like is does any spin great. I fly this plane all the time, probably 100 flights on it this season so far.

The crash landing,,, cartwheelin an ultimate, ouch, glad its ok and fixable, dont want this plane out of action

hehe, yeah I am kind of embarassed actually, but I figured we have all done it before, so what the hell. I haven't done it in 5 years, but I guess i was getting to comfy and needed a quick reminder not to slack off while flying. She will be flying this weekend. The damage was so minute, its crazy. Actually i think the hot glue construction allowed more give in the crash. :P Hope to get some more video and practice some better landings this weekend.

The video was filmed last year. The only way to make to tail heavy enough for 3D was to remove cowl, wheel pants, and spinner. However, earlier this year I moved the battery pack to the tail, which allows good CG w/ the cowl on. I am getting more comfortable with this plane now that I can do harrier w/ confidence. The wing still rocks, but harrier can be maintained with quick aileron correction before a wingtip drops. This plane is not easy to do 3D, but it does sharpen my reflexes. I am planning to get it filmed again at this weekend's fun fly, hoping to improve upon my previous video.

Sean, I liked the video that you filmed last year. It's bout' time for a new one isn't it?

Just about got mine done. I had some unexpected time to be spent with the wife this weekend. All I have left is the pull-pull on the tail surfaces. Should be soon now.

I was going to film it again last weekend, only to find the camcorder out of battery when I leave for flying.

The way I have it set up now, it will do rolling harrier much nicer. Also, I can sustain torque roll straighter and longer. Inverted flat spin requires only rudder input. Yup, I think it is tail-heavy now, because it flies level w/ some down elevator trim. Thanks to the 2 wings, it is still very stable during low speed turns.

Hey did ya'll go with the pull-pull on the elevator? I got the pull-pull done on the rudder with no prob. but the pull-pull on the split elevator is eating my lunch .

I'm thinking about ditching the cables and just going with carbon fiber push-rods.

I got it done. The only thing I cant figure out is how to adjust them so that they go up and down evenly. It seems that no mater how I adjust it I can't get it just right.
I have also have seen another dp ultimate were they moved the servos back to just underneth the elevator, And used two servos.
I attached them to the fuse at that point and the CG comes out just right. I might give that a shot.

I just give max throw physically allowed, and use 50% for dual rate.

By the way, here is the updated video

That was some great flying there. Thanks for sharing. I like how flat the inverted spins were!
I noticed alot of wing rock while you were in high alpha.Have you been able to fly harriers without the rocking being a problem?
Also have you tried any waterfalls and walls with the bipe yet?

It looks like to me that he is not using enough elevator in high alpha which is causing the wing rock. With 3D either you have to jump in fully on the rates or risk an unstable plane. The Ultimates I have seen are very stable in harrier and elevator manuevers.

Maybe a 30%+ Ultimate, but not this one. If my DP Ultimate can shave another pound, it perhaps will harrier w/o wing rock. At my current CG (which is pretty aft already judging from the flat spin), the wing rock is much worse at a higher alpha, to a point that if I am not careful, it will snap out. At this shallower angle, it rocks, but harmlessly back and forth.

For waterfall, I was able to get some tighter ones when I had the CG more aft, as in last year's video:

http://www.pedrofrigola.com/Ultimate%20Show.wmv

I had the cowl removed, used light hub, and used Pro-Zinger prop. AUW was 12-lb. It was lighter and more tail heavy, which helped the waterfall. I think if I change back to this configuration, I should be able to get it to harrier better, now that I am more comfortable with harrier flight.

My next step is to get a Bambula 18x8 and get more thrust while shaving more nose weight.

The rear c/g has nothing to do with the flat spin. mine did it being nose heavy. great plane though .i wish i still had mine. but the D.V is working out pretty good so far
