Why keep messing around with these wanna be 3D planes??? A lot of the airplanes mentioned are named after 3D but they are really sport planes that are 3D capable.
Go with a profile if your worried about money and want the most 3D bang for your buck, once you fly it you wouldnt want a twist or a 3D Giles. If you dont like the looks of profiles (which you would after you have owned a real one (sig profiles dont count)). If you dont want to cough up the money for the $200 extra (which is a hell of a deal), Then go with the UCD .46 with the .90 on the front. I have seen this combo and its AWESOME.

The twist is more of a fun-fly plane. The matrix was designed with 3D in mind. When deciding about an engine, consider the weight. When people put a .60 on a F40 they weighed it down and after the weight handicap, it flew like it had a .40. I looked up the weight of your supertiger and it was significantly more than any other .90 that I saw.
Good luck. I'll keep looking for you.

I've had both the Twist and Matrix. like Woops said, the Twist is a fun fly plane, not a good 3D plane. The Matrix flies pretty good 3D, but I did not like the elevator set-up (pull-pull bellcrank) and your 90 will definitley be too big and heavy. I had a OS 70 Ultimate 4 stk, and it barely fit in the cowling. May I suggest that you should get another Funtana 90, for its size, weight, and excellant flying characteristics, it seems logical. I learned 3D flying on a Funtana 40, and went through 3 of them. You already have all the right equipment, and you how know it goes together. You won't have the thrill and anticipation of a new airplane, but sticking with something that you are already familiar with will help you to advance your flying skills.

i know how to do most 3D manuvers from torque roll too rolling harrier.... now the problem of getting another Funtana 40 is i don't have servos for it, the servos i used for it got stripped during the crash because i was all standard servos w/o bb and nylon gears. now if i get another Funtana 40 then i would know what to expect during the building process, but when i had the Funtana w/ the .90 engine it looks like it's gonna shred when it fly at full thottle so thottle management is a must. now if i'm going to buy the Futana 40 then WHAT SERVOS would u recommend that is cheap but good? is there a BIG difference between bb and w/o bb? should i use ball link? because when i had the funtana the surfaces shakes a lot it moves or flutter about 1/4" !!!
a harrier 90 is about the same price... and it's designed for a 90 size engine... would that be better? i remember one comment in this thread saying that the harrier 90 flies better than the Funtana 40... is that true?

I run hs 475's in my funtana. Been flying it for over 2 yrs. Still as tight as new even after 2 nose dives when the engine died from doin walls. Had it too lean when engine was new.

NICE! i'm runnin 6v on all my plane (home built battery pack 2100mah) the 475 looks like a good deal.. bb, high torque and only for $17, i WILL DEFINITELY buy those for my next plane....
me and my dad looked at the auctions on EBAY and there are some accel KATANA GS70 and my highest bid was $86.01 but i should have known... 1 more dollar would have win me the BID![:@]
the POWER LINE HOBBIES extra looks like a good plane... it is 3d capable and can it haddle my 90 engine?
PS. is there a BIG difference between bb and non bb servos? difference between sloppiness?

I highly recommend the Katana's, I have the GS 40 and it is the best/easiest 3D plane I own. If I crashed it I would order another tommorrow. I am probably going to get the katana 70 as well. I have flown UCD's,funtanas, and lots of other 3D's, my GS 40 is so much better flying than all of them.
I have a saito 82 on my katana 40 and it totally impresses me and everyone at the field. Hovers awesome, flatspins great, knife edge loops can be 10ft diameter or 200ft. I hardly even fly my twist any more. You'll love Katana, plus the 70 size the wings are removeable. My Kat 40 would be a pain to haul with out a trailer,SUV, or pickup.

i will buy the gear set later... b/c i'm not in a need for these servos yet, if i'm going to use the .90 engine i will need to get something like the 475's thanks for the sugestions. any comments on how any of these planes fly from you? even though i read the review i am not very satisfied, cause reviews always have to have good words, so i want to know what kind of flaws these planes have.... thanks for the reply

Head on over to www.spadtothebone.com and make yourself a plane for under $40. If built right they can be pretty stable and fly a LOT better than most people think. I have a 3/4 size SPA3D with a Norvel .25 big mig and it is the best hovering/harrier plane I have even flown.

i made a post in the KAT 70 in the profile forum and a guy sent me this email...
Don't be fooled by the videos, this is without a doubt, the worst ARF I've ever bought. You would be wise to spend your money elsewhere and not have any regrets about spending your hard earned money on Accells Cheap Chinese Crap. There are better planes/value out there you should consider. In hindsight, I wish I would have bought the TOC Profile Yak. I wouldn't pay $50 for another Kat 70, to many problems with this one. Even after all the modifications I did on this one I'm still not comfortable/confident that it will stay together, it's only a matter of time before something lets go. Very poor construction, splits and cracks in the wood and even dark moldy areas, hardware included is nearly all unuseable except for the fuel tank and control horns. I don't mean to sound so negative but this is really a cheap, overpriced piece of crap of an airplane. Don't learn by the burn as I and many others have. I'm sure if you inquire around with other Kat 70 owners you will hear basically the same things I have said

ok.. now i'm looking deeply into the HARRIER 90 and the funtana 40. i've had experience w/ the funtana... but can anyone here tell me if a super tiger 90 will be able to hover this plane and enough for a pull out?
what other planes out there that can do 3D and can handle my 90 engine and cheap? i'm willing to spend $150 - 170

Hi Xoon,
As I said earlier, putting in a .90 size engine will not only give you an unlimted vertical but you can hover at half throttle. This gives you more than enough power to pull out. Your bestbet is a Funtana .40. Go with the Funtana .40.

no w/ the F40 all i have is the engine. and the servos are standard no BB and they are all stripped. i'm not goin to use them again for 3D plane like the F40 w/ the HUGE controls surfaces. i'm plannin to use all HI TORQUE servos on the new plane. either the HITEC 475 or the bluebird HI TORQUE and metal gear servos. i'm plannin to go w/ the HARRIER 90 w/ the supertiger.. w/ the servos i dont really know which one yet. please advice me on the servos selections, because i did a search on the bluebird servos and not much showed up
