Does anyone know anything different about Dave Patrick finally getting this new shipment of extras out. My buddy talked to them about 2 months ago and they told him to look for it in
September. Now they are saying that the shipping company went on strike. So what gives. He is ready to cancel his order and get something else. I think I might be as frustrated as him.

I ran into the same problem getting parts from horizon. The problem was the dock workers in California! They went on strike for like a month so the docks were backed up with a month worth of imported goods (mostly from Japan). I just got my goods in yesterday and I ordered them at the end of August. I'd tell your friend to wait on a wonderful airplane. It probably isn't Patricks fault, its a problem thats effected all parts of the American economy for the past two months!

The Dockworkers weren't on strike. They were locked out.

I thought they went on strike in order to prevent more efficient methods from being adopted (such as barcoding shipments).

Either way, now they are under investigation for and "illegal work slowdown" since being ordered back to work. This work slowdown may continue to affect your shipments for a while yet.

So if they were already going slow, then were ordered back, then instituted a "work slowdown" from there, are they even moving??????????????????

I here on the news right now that they are ironing out some more of the details and making good progress toward a normal work day !!

they were ordered back to work by the courts....they still had been working slowly but just fast enough not to be in contempt of a court order !

Ok, since I live around here, I'll tell you what happened. The dock workers went on strike because the dock companies introduced a new High Tech method of speeding things up but the dock workers felt threatened about the new Technology so they went on strike to remove it. So Prez. Bush ordered them back to work and under the law they must go back to work for 6 months and after that they can go back on strike. So, what the workers being accused of is that they are slowing things down intentionally so after 6 months it will still be hell when they strike again! Hope this make sense. This is the simplest way I can explain it.

Regardless it shouldn't affect the EAST COAST because you guys have ports in NY and TX.

Unfortunately, most items shipped from a given part of the world go to a particular area of the country... the closest. From there, they are either trucked or trained.

Since most arfs are coming from the "far east" most come to the west coast ports. Maybe, they will start sending things through the formerly U.S. owned Panama canal to TX, but until then, we are all affected.
