I finally started construction. I havent got the engine yet but hope to order it at the toledo show or soon after.
These are some pics of the carbon fiber landing gear and spinner as well as the hinges on the right wing. The landing gear is tapped on the pictures. The sukhoi is next to it for comparison and is for sale if anybody is interested. Hopefully i will be able to join the wings this weekend.

I have taken and pulled out as much foam in the turttle deck as i can i have also taken and drilled lightening holes behind the firewall. I have added a piece of 1/8 in ply to the firewall for added strength. Also here are some pics of the landing gear with the wheel pants.

I had both the H9 Cap and the CG Sukhoi. My Sukhoi came out much lighter than the Cap. I ran a YS 140 in both. I'd sell the Cap before the Sukhoi but maybe you can lighten the Cap some. The wings on my Cap were REALLY heavy.

Well guys i finally got my engine and servos! I got all JR 8611A servos about a week ago and got the engine (da-50) at toledo. I also picked up a mejlik 22x8 prop and a supersonic pitts style muffler. (Incidentally the zdz50 and da-50 have the same bolt pattern) Hopefully in a couple of weeks she will be ready to fly. When i get some extra time i will post some new pics

IM Finally done with her she weighs 14Lbs and balances perfectly. She has a DA50 with a Super Sonic muffler (same bolt pattern as the zdz 50) has JR 8611A servos on all surfaces and a JR DS537 for throttle. The batteries are two 6.0v nimh 1200mah packs one for ignition and one for the radio. Fuel tank is 24oz which i think will be taken out and replaced with a 16oz tank after the first few flights. The canopy has been tinted with ritz dye (2black 1navy blue) the pilot is a cajun r/c and was hand painted by a friend of mine. Hopefully i will be flying her this weekend. Thanks for all the hlep guys

Looks Great Rob I cant wait to see it fly, now your gonna have to pick a contest and a weekend.... Ive got a winter project for you so start saving your pennies now... http://www.midwestproducts.com/cap_232.htm This kit flies well to all I have talked too, If you use 1 8611a for both elev halves pull-pull and 1 8611a pull-pull for the rudder. They say you need only 70oz per side for the elevator halves, and their bigger than yours not to mention they are air-foiled... after you get used to flying your cap ill let you fly my extra... and CAP... and try to break you of you cap fixation..... I Love my CAP but you gotta think sequence, I hate to say it the cap will make you work much harder for that plaque. Great work, she is a real looker.

I put together a mix video of my cap and shock for ya.. http://media.putfile.com/3D-Mix-Video

Bobby
