Please guys, I really need help here.
I have a OS 160 with a JTEC in cowl muffler and a perry VP30.
I finished the installation in that weekend, But, when I tried to start the engine for the first time, the surprise came!
The engine do not start anyway!! When it works, is just for a few seconds.
The most curious thing is the carburator what drops a lot of fuel in which prop turn in my tries to start. I spent two 17 oz fuel tanks and the engine do not ran. There was a fuel puddle under the airplane after my tries. And the fuel tank is not pressurized
I try everything. I follow all manuals (pump end engine), I open and close all misture screws of engine, and I set in and out the pump“s screw! Here lives another problem. In one try I removed with no intention the pump screw. I immediately placed it in the place, but, anyway, nothing changed in the engine operate!
What“s wrong??
Please, somebody help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here“s some picture of my installation!!!!
THKS for all!

turn the set screw on the pump out about 4 to5 threads and set the carb around 1.5 turns out on the high side and 1.25 out on low side. when you get it started re tune your carb to run a little rich. the pump pushes alot of fuel through the carb so you must run the carb settings alot leaner. if this is a new engine make sure not to run it to lean.

Recently went through something of the same nature with a Jett 90 bench broken in and installed in inverted position in a Alley Cat. The 90 was a one flip starter on the bench as usual with all sports jett engines. If Randy's direction did not get you going, do the following. Replace the plug with a new one. Blow out the needle valve with the needle out and then in. Strap a smallish tank on the plane where draw can not be a problem close to the needle, remote needle I take it. Set the plane in a position where the engine is upright. Start the engine and set the high and low needles where the engine is running and transitiuoning corretly. Now hook up the perry pump and start and needle again. Should be close even with the perry. If everything is operating and adjusted correctly at this point, turn the plane over to normal position. Engine should start right up and need a little needle adjustment on the high end. This way you will know if the problem is in the perry or not. Why are the inverted engines so balky? Guess because they want the needle adjustment to be almost right on. My jett is back to its usual one flip start after the correct needle setting was established right side up. If you don't have a compressor at home, go to a computer store and buy a can of "Dust Off", compressed air can. I keep one with me in the car as it's handy when you need air at the field to blow off unwanted junk, test retracts etc. If you don't have a "Radio South" glow igniter, get one. They are well worth the bucks, let you know when the plug is wet and when the plug is good and working correctly. Saves me pulling the plug after each race to check working condition etc. ENJOY

I tried this exact same setup once. The problem is that the engine is flooding on the first flip of the prop. If you must mount it inverted, you need to close the needle valve all the way, make sure the glow plug is dry and flip it. As soon as it starts, open the needle valve about 1/4 turn before it has a chance to die. A 160FX HATES being inverted. I finally got tired of the routine and bought a Bisson Pitts muffler and layed it on its side, all is well now. It runs rich at 1/4 open on the HS needle, the pump supplies A LOT more fuel than muffler pressure can.
P.S. Or you can start the plane inverted.

Hi friends!
Thanks you for all replies!!
I tried to start the engine again following the randy racer advices and the 160 finally started. I was set the low speed screw very leaner than originally recommended by O.S., but worked.
Anyway, I don“t fly my plane yet and I was save the rmenke“s message for future problems. And, bhole74, I don“t had your same problem yet, but your advice was save too for others problems that I can have with this configuration!!
Thanks everybody for you precious help!!
