I am flying mine with the 26cc and have no problem pulling out of a hover. One thing I think most people are over looking is this engine is two rings on the piston instead of one which = the more gas thru it the more power it's going to make will take a long time to break one in good.

Well, I would think the video is proof the SPE will pull out of a hover. My wings should be here is a day or so, then I guess I will know for sure. I use Klotz mix in all my gas engines. I have seen that DA and other use regular lawnboy mix. THe Klotz is a little messy, but is the best mix IMO as it is 100% Syn. What is the benifit of the other mix, ratherthan saving a couple bucks and less mess. I would think one would use the 100% SYN to get more protection and less wear.

I have two questions I would have response concerning this plane as I still don't have received it.
What size of spinner should I buy for this plane ? 3" ? 2"3/4 ?
What throw do you use on aileron, rudder and elevator ? What are your dual rate trow?
Whith these information, I could order the good spinner now before receiving the plane and I could build the plane as soon as I will receive it.
Thanks for your reply

NO cooling problem, if you look at the one with a cowl you will see how much of the bottom of the cowl is cut out. Ok Folks I will have my test engine this week and plan on flying it over the weekend. If all goes well we will be selling the engine in about 3 weeks. I also will have the Edge, Yak and Extra 260 all in the 26cc class in late Dec. Here are a few pictures. Our Engines will come with a wrap around pitts muffler and a rear mounted carb.

Hello everybody, i make that 2 edge video, and just want to post here my setup:
peakmodel edge 26cc
26cc rear carburator engine (no brand on the engine, it was sent to me for testing, i do not know who is the manufacter)
apc 17x6 prop 8100 rpm
4 futaba s3305 servos
1 standart servo for acelerator
6v 1300mah nimh batery
Have not weighted the model, sorry.
Very good airplane, for 3d flight and precision, lots of wing area, top quality construction.
Hope that helps
Jose

What are you looking at? The Yak is a fun scale, it is round like a yak but I don't think it is scale, also the Yak has a much bigger fuse then the edge. I will try to take a few pictures of the one I have now and post later this week as I am off to work for a few days now.

OK - I didn't realize the Yak was "fun scale". The Edge is clearly and Edge, but the Yak, I had to think about it.
I've been thinking about ordering the Combo for either the Yak or the Edge, but suddenly, there is now an Extra 260 somewhere in the works .... decisions, decisions, decisions ...

Have received the EDGE yesterday, Tuesday.
I've ordered it thursday, it has been sent Fryday from China and arrived very quickly.
That's great. No custom charges in France. No damage inside. Everything is OK.
The only question I have is if the tank cap is compatible with Methanol or only with Gass ?
Can anybody tell me if I have to change the tank or tank cap to make it compatible with Methanol ?
Thanks

Hi
I' have the EDGE 540 with a SPE 26cc. Tested two different engines from peakmodel and both having the same problem. After approx. 2 running hours it seems that the supplied ignition fails and engine refuses to run at all. It will fire and run for a couple of sec but stops again. Tested with all different needle settings and different fuels, different carbs, battery packs, plugs etc. Nothing mechanical wrong with the engines. Suspecting the ignition module to be broken. Is there anyone else that has experienced the same problem?? Don't think this is just a coincidence since I have received TWO different engines from Peakmodel and both are having almost the same problem...
