Default Gas Engine? Giles 202 140

I just purchased this China Model Productions Giles 202 140 and was wondering if this 26cc gas engine would work well or not? Thanks I'm new to gas so I have no clew.

I have Great Planes 202 in 1/4 scale, weighs in at 16 1/2 lbs ready to fly with an OS 1.6, pitts muff, 16x8 sometimes 18x6 wood pro.Not quite enough thurst to pull out of a hover, but enough for all the other tricks.OS claims 3.7 bhp @ 9000 rpm, with muffler, about 41oz. Hope this helps. Dan. Oh, I forgot to mention, this plane also has a 18oz. smoke tank & sullivan smoke pump.

Do search, quite a few people have strapped on the 26 and bigger,I believe that the outcome was that the plane was not powered enough and starts getting heavy. The Giles is a real good flier, but one must keep all excess weight off,or it becomes a pattern missile. It depends on your style. If you like a quick pattern type,it may work, but dont expect this one to float around or 3D well.Overall it flies great with an engine that balances.I had an OS 160 on mine, lots of excess brute power(under 12 pounds),but in my opinion was a bit heavy for CG and wingloading. There are a few that did the 26cc gas that will be able to tell the exact expectations from this set up.

Was that the O.S. 160 twin?
The Saito 150 weight is 30oz w/o muffler, and 1.5 cubic (25cc) the one I'm looking at is 37.5oz 1.6 cubic in (26cc). I sure like the idea of how clean the gas engines run.

no ,that was the the 2 stroke OS 160 single on nitro.the Saito 150 or OS 160 Twin 4 stroke do not have comparable power at all, nowhere near really. Please do not compare horsepower figures on 4 sytroke and 2 stroke and gas motors. Its like comparing an electric car to a Diesel and gas engine. Each make very different power at different curves and torque.
I think Zippi put a 26 cc gasser on it,give him an email on what to expect. He has some experience with trying the smaller gassers in 1/4 scale frames.
Somebody else was going to fly it with a ZDZ40,not sure how that ever turned out..probably not much fun to fly around I'd guess.

With the 26cc SPE you can expect the Giles to touch about 13 lbs. Question is how well the SPE can haul a 13 lbs plane.
