Just so I know we're on the same page. I'm asking about mixing in the radio,(9cap), the ailerons and elevators so you actually have ailerons and elverons, giving differential movement of the elevators when you apply aileron input.

I'm new to 3D. I thought that if you're going slow at high alfa the ailerons would not be very effective, but the elevators set up as elverons would be in the prop blast and would be effective.

It works well, but i would not use it unless you really need it. As said any good 3d plane should have adaquet roll athority in high alpha.

OK, that pretty much answers the question. I wanted to run both elevaters off the same channel, but I thought I might be missing the boat by not doing this.
Thanks

What Kinda plane?
No mixes should be needed to 3d.
Of course thats in a perfect world.
Some will have the ailerons raise slightly when applying full elevator , the reason is to help stop wing rock.
I have never had to do that simply because I refuse to fly a crappy design that has wing rock, There are to many good designs out there to be wasting time trying to mix out wing rock.
Advice,, Slow down and burn fuel, Most people asking this question really just need to burn more fuel. Don't go to the field and burn 3 tanks ,, burn 12 instead, before long all mixing will happen via your fingers

I have many many planes, I not trying to fix a problem just get the proper setup. It was really about having more roll authority at slow speed, I guess I figured if the F-22 does it why not my stuff?
I've burnt a lot of fuel in the last 37 years, but I just started 3Ding.

Me too, after 30 years, a few years back I started 3d. I still have a habit of talking more then flying, but the guys that really get good just refill and keep flying.
As far as slow speed ailerons, I think that you'll find slow to be a plus in learning 3d.
Ailerons when starting out with 3d only need to be effective enough to stop a torque roll in a hover,
as you get better you will want more for anti-torque rolls and point torque rolling.
Remember a blast of throttle will kick in the ailerons should you need it to roll quickly.

You're talking about the ailevator function built in to the 8UAF & 9C, it lets the elevator halves move in unison with each aileron, Ive used it for more axial rolls but never tried it for 3-D. It sounds like a good idea, specially if aileron control is lacking in 3-D flight. Give it a try & let us know.
