Hi guys! Somebody could tell me witch rate of exponencial should I use on my throtle setting for making 3D ? Also I have a H9 260 extra and a seagle yak 54 with a zenoah 20cc ei . Can I practice 3D things with this Yak , like stall etc ...? Thanks ! Paul

No expo on throttle....whats the wing span on those...just guessing now but no on the 3d..

The 260 extra has 78 in and it's on a DA50. The Yak with 20cc has 63 in span. The thing about throtle expo is that it's hard to try the stall because the throtle respond too fast ...Thanks ! Paul

Usually, I would use expo on the throttle to make the engine response linear. If the linkage and the EPA (ATV) is adjusted properly, the response should already be linear. If you want the throttle response to slow down, there is a mix in some radios called throttle delay, and that will slow down the servo controlling the throttle, but I highly doubt that you need it. With 3D, you want the fastest engine response possible to get you out of trouble.

You are looking for a throttle curve,like in a heli.
Many radios do not support this function for aircraft.
What radio is in use?

I have a futaba 9ch caps . The expo on throtle works well but I don't know if 3D pilot use it ? The thing is that , with my 260 extra 27% on DA 50 , when i try the hover or stall , I find the throtle responding too fast and the plane goes up ... Thanks ! Paul

Yes a gasoline engine powers up right after low throttle,sometimes you can be at 60% power with just 3 clicks.Add the expo..you can test the results on the ground.
Also on your servo horn,if you go to a closer hole to center,you will get less travel and be less sensitive.

On expo you have to find the sweat spot to hold hover. You can the flatten the curve to get less throttle response as you jockey the throttle. Dennis

The 9C has a mix called "THrottle Needle" which provides a 5-point curve for just this purpose. You can set the curve to give you a relatively flat spot at the hoverpoint so maintining the hover will be much less throttle sensitive.

This sounds like a really good answer, I'm gonna find this mix on my 9cap.

I've used throttle expo on several 3D planes. Just dail up about 30% one way and see if you like it better than no expo. 30% isn't enough to make any danger on your throttle. If it feels worse try 30 % the other way. It only takes a few seconds between flights to change things.

You can use the expo on the 9CAP to make the throttle more linear. Gassers pick up RPM right off idle like nitro wing said. I also have a 9CAP, and I have the same problem.
