RE: 3D simulators?
g3 autimatically haas wind, turbulence and thermals set like average weather (5 to 10mph wind) but you can easily turn it off

RE: 3D simulators?
I have both Refelx XTR and Aeroflypro Delux. I was an AFD convert but now Im switching to XTR. The graphics are much better, the physics are comparable, AFP have the edge by a whisker in physics, but XTR has an awsome hover facility and feels more like a natural stance when flying.

Thanks for all the info AFTER I ordered it.

RE: 3D simulators?
After about two hours on G3 I have noticed that my flying skills have increased a lot. I (with no heli experience before) han fly a basic heli pretty well( keep control, corect mistackes, flip it upside down[Dominion 90]). My fixed wing flying has also improved a lot. The only problem that I have is with the Yak. It is so reallistic that the 3W motor cots off every time I try to fly it.
Just kdding about the yak. It isn't that realistic.:D |

FMS is awesome for basic flying, takeoffs, landings...a beginner sim Reflex is best for 3D training but can only take you so far...a good second trainer after FMS AFPD is best for learning all the 3D moves easily and fast...does everything but just a little easier G3 is here to peak out your skills and to get your skills top notch and once you master G3, you are past ready for real life! Too bad we cant talk the producers of AFPD and g3 into combining for that ULTIMATE sim, that would be sweet! |

Too bad we cant talk the producers of AFPD and g3 into combining for that ULTIMATE sim, that would be sweet! I would sure like to try G3, but from what I understand it is possible to make the planes fly easy like most of the default planes in AFPD. Also, I know that in AFPD it is easy to add weight to a plane and crank up the sim speed and add turbulence to make it a handful -- especially when you are using the right plane. So why do you need both when they can be made to do similar things? |
RE: 3D simulators?
You can modify g3 to act like delux, but it will NEVER be the same, likewise with delux planes, there ups and downs to each sim, like it would be very hard to make delux snap on radiuses like g3, and we cant make g3 as floaty as delux but still have the same harrier physics, torque roll speed...etc, i think the biggest thing keeping all this from happening is the control surface efficiency, they are all different. Reflex actually has a setting where you can control the efficincy of the surfaces, but i still couldnt get it to do rolling harriers good, but the TR physics are pretty good if you turn up the rudder efficiency. I wish I could better explain my thoughts.

RE: 3D simulators?
one thing i hated about AFP is after you converted the weights and prop sizes etc. over to english.. none of the measurements and weights werent even close to real world. a 40 size motor would have like a 16 in prop on it for example

I wish I could throw a 16 in. prop on my .46[X(]

RE: 3D simulators?
thats just how i think though, I have never tried delux, but i dont see how it would ever mimic G3. The one thing i regret about g3 is it needs photorealistic scenery, I loved reflexs scenerys and you knew where you were at most of the time, but with g3 all you have an option for is 3D scenery. If i remember correctly g2 had photo scenery but it sucked.

RE: 3D simulators?
Does anyone know how to take some of the expo out of the G3 planes? Can it be done?
|
RE: 3D simulators?
i do it to all my usual planes. just go to software radio-click the channel you want expo in-there is where you set it, but make sure it is activated always, you can do that by clicking the expand button next to the channel and click expotential, then make sure it is set as always. It's easy once you get the hang of it. Good Luck!

RE: 3D simulators?
Nice job on the Yak 54 with the counterbalances Breakstuff it flies great!:D
|
RE: 3D simulators?
thank you, i wasnt sure if it flew much different from regular surfaces, bc in my head i hope it does make a difference!
|
RE: 3D simulators?
It seemed to be more stable to me. I don't know what else you might have changed on the plane but it is not as snappy even on a downline. Plus it looks more like the real thing. Now if somene will just do an Extreme Flight color scheme I will be happy!:D

RE: 3D simulators?
AKA Rick Delten.. im sure he would do it.. i know he can do it[8D]

RE: 3D simulators?
After flying it for an hr or so it feels a tad bit floaty, easily fixed by adding a pound or so. I cant think of anything else to do to a plane that would make it better, any suggestions? I need a challenge! I know the editing software like the back of my hand, well, kinda...yall know know what i mean!

RE: 3D simulators?
You could always do up an Extra 330. :D

RE: 3D simulators?
well, the only thing i can do there is change little things, it wouldnt make a big difference in characteristics, but i can give it a shot, just give me the wing span, length, fuse width and height etc, as much as you can find, even wing cord and weight. You help me help you!!!![sm=lol.gif]i like that phrase
