RE: 3D simulators?
Well I would like one that flys like my Hangar 9 Extra 330s 1/3 scale. It has a 97" wing span and it is 85 1/2 long I think and weighs 24 pounds I know kinda heavy but I am stuck with the Zenoah right now.

RE: 3D simulators?
when you get a chance e-mail me all the specs you can get, like wing cord (length of wing from LE to TE, give me those measurements of wing root and wing tip), then measure the length of one wing, and elevator, then i should be ready, i know its alot but i would like to fly something that acts different.

ORIGINAL: Breakstuff5050 ORIGINAL: drumbum ORIGINAL: Breakstuff5050 After flying it for an hr or so it feels a tad bit floaty, easily fixed by adding a pound or so. I cant think of anything else to do to a plane that would make it better, any suggestions? I need a challenge! I know the editing software like the back of my hand, well, kinda...yall know know what i mean! |

Will do I will get them to you as soon as I can get off my lazy ***** and go to the garage!

RE: 3D simulators?
if we kept that up there would be ONE big post on its own page. looking like a picture of a mirror looking into a mirror.stepping down in size to infinity. trying to read the origional post would cause some kind of phenomenon automaticly sucking you into 1 pixel on your screen trapping you for life or untill someone recreated it spitting you back out in their living room 20 years later

HE HE HE HE HE HE HE :D

RE: 3D simulators?
That would be SWEET!!!! Lets do it, that means i will still be 16 20 yrs from now, then i can look at all the new technology and planes and then come back here and sell the new ideas i just saw!

RE: 3D simulators?
Well I just got Reflex XTR and I had to finalize my opinion of the 3. I am still not a G3 follower there is somthing not right about it to me anyway it doesnt work. AFPD is good but I have my reservations about it. After flying Reflex I do see now that it has tendencies to float the planes making some manuvers too easy to do. Then there is Reflex, out of the box all I can say is WOW. The graphics are bar none the best I have ever seen. Panolusion technology is what they use and it is unbelievable. That also enhances the way you fly as the sun reflects off the plane in certain attitudes and shadows that are cast can be decieving as to your position in a manuver when you are in a low 3D manuver. I know the others have the same but to me reflex just works better. The planes are defintalty not floaty, that seems like one of the biggest issues with sim planes and YES they do snap quite violently if you over correct or are at a stall speed. The down side of Refex is to tweek the planes takes an engineering degree everything is in metric units they use abriv. like Newton meters for the unit of measure on some things unless you are versed in that vocablulary trial and error seems to be the way. And the available downloaded planes are not as much as G3 or AFPD. Still they have alot just not as many. Again on the pluses, the heli portion is the best. While the planes can compete with each other from sim to sim with some differences. IMO The helis on reflex have absolutly no competition the most realistic thing I have ever flown they respond more real act more real, the feeling when you fly is just different but in a good way. Anyway IMO thats what I have concluded about the sims and I can say I have used them all. In fairness to G3 I havent used it as much as AFPD or Reflex but that was because I just didnt like it from the get go. Thanks

RE: 3D simulators?
I hated G3 from the get go,
NOW its all i fly and i love it |

RE: 3D simulators?
As for the radio issue I use my 9 cap and seeing as though I dont have 20 models in real life to fly I set up a few in it call them Reflex Extra, Reflex Katana etc.... Thats how I jumped the set up hurdle. It also keeps me in the loop with programing my radio. As for the physics thats where I think they got it right. I flew the flip 3D straight out of the program just some expo dialed and it was right on IMO. Very realistic to hover and do 3D. Also the downloaded F90 as i found it stalled to fast but a tweek here and there and it flys perfect almost identical to mine. AFP Never got that 100% right on they always floated no matter what. IMO

RE: 3D simulators?
My rpoblem could have been setting my radio up wrong, but i think reflex needs a dummy controller. It would make it that much easier for some people. But i used reflex for a long time, and the hover physics were pretty good, I think it was harder then real life, not that its a bad thing. I think G3 is a little too predictable, most sims are, but if i had to I would have no problem going back to reflex, but i still like g3 much better. I would also like to try AFPD, but i still have a feeling i would go back to g3.

RE: 3D simulators?
joe, can you point out a good model for me or e-mail me a model for reflex that you find very good? I busted out the ol reflex sim to compare to g3, i worked a little bit trying to modify the models to my liking, it is very hard, but i improved some of them a littlle bit better, but i am still not satisfied with the physics. I absolutley hate the way all the planes fly on the sim except for the katana and flip 3D, but they are still not right feeling, the rest of the models including foamies suck, the shock-edge is OK.

RE: 3D simulators?
Can you load Add Ons 1 to G3? I've tried, but it didn't work.
|
RE: 3D simulators?
Yes you can load all the add-ons got to the real flight website and check out the forums there it is loaded with information on setups problem fixes and even some cool color schemes for download. Hope this helps!

RE: 3D simulators?
All you guys trying to convince people that G3 is better then AFPD for 3D is insane. I guess you guys are just trying to convince yourselves that the $200 you wasted on G3 was worth spending. But look at the votes 44 to 15. G3 isn't a close 10th for best 3D simulator. It may be ok with helis and flying circles, but that's just about it. Let's not even talk about the $29 you have to spend for every 15 airplanes when they are all free for AFPD and always have been. I personally have 497 aircraft for AFPD, and list is getting longer and longer. All those "fancy features" that G3 has eats away at the potential for the physics engine. for AFPD, it's Physics First! I would personally have a simulator that flies more realistically and has the same charateristics as real planes, then fly around and watch a moving wind sock or know that i can fly 5000 miles away when in reality you cant even see an R/C airplane more then about 2 miles away. Clouds moving? big deal, when im tork rolling, im not really looking up to see if the clouds are moving. Sims were made to help people fly better, not help them be weathermen or sight see'ers haha:):D:):D
some things are just soo funny, but ill get off my little soap box thing, if im even on one, AFPD ROOLS! Scott |
RE: 3D simulators?
[sm=lol.gif] I've been thinking that same thing all along, but didn't have the cajones to say it!!!! [sm=thumbup.gif]
|
RE: 3D simulators?
well i gave you some confidence, so voice your opinion ghee-grose!
|
RE: 3D simulators?
Have ya'll flown G3 and AFPD?
I haven't been as thrilled with G3 as I thought I would be. I think that G3 is to easy, but I was told on this thread that it was WAY harder than AFPD. Oh well. At least I can practice a routine with it.:D |
RE: 3D simulators?
I've flown both and can honestly say that AFP is better... if it weren't I'd sell it on ebay and buy the G3. :)
|
RE: 3D simulators?
Being insane is not a bad thing. I can fly online with all my insane friends out there! I guess we just have an online asylum[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]!
|
RE: 3D simulators?
I haven't voted yet as I have never tried G3 or reflex--Would like to though. I wonder of the people that voted how many of them have tried all 3? Or at least g3 and AFPD?
|
RE: 3D simulators?
That is a good question! You should get G3 then you could be part of the online asylum he he.
