RE: GP Cap 232
Bell,
The fuji will get you around but it doesn't have the best power to weight out there... If you're on a budget get a DL50 or a nice 2nd hand Brison 2.4... The Metal Futaba sold via Tower are fine just the one inch or 1.25 that is about all this plane will require.. The Duralites should be just fine they are way more than you will need in this plane, Keep thinking weight.. Less is much better with a 80inch wing... |
RE: GP Cap 232
I had a DL 50 on my Cap and it was just too much power for me. There are other people that love the combo though.
Not being a fan of Fuji engines I would set my sights on an RCGF 45cc or the go the glow route with an OS 160 Gas is best The short stroke XYZ 50 is also good, not as wild as a DA/DL and the price is under $300. |
RE: GP Cap 232
hello,
mine is almost finished, with an os 200 with pump, but where is your cg ? mine is back the notice... thank's Stephane |
RE: GP Cap 232
I got a 2M 3-D plane from KMP with a YS 140 on it, its right on the CG and level when you hold it by the prop nut and the tip top of the rudder. When I fly it, the right wing always drops when you pull up alot of elev. it's worse at slow speeds. If you hold the elev. all the way up it drops the right wing then kind of levels off if your high enough while holding up. What causes this right side to drop & is there a way to fix it??? Thanks

RE: GP Cap 232
Check with RCU member Bobzilla about that, the guy knows everything
|
RE: GP Cap 232
Sounds like one of or many of the following things.
Lateral balance (Try holding under the rudder not the tip top) Tip insidences are off (wing twist) Stab is not level or twisted The elevator halves are not moving the same I would check these in order. Post again if you figure it out I'm sure we can let you know the best way to fix it. |
RE: GP Cap 232
I'm putting my money on the elevator halves being off
|
RE: GP Cap 232
I would NOT fly the cap at the aft limit, especially for the first couple of flights. I would say at the recommended CG or in front. Makes the plane much better behaved.

GP Yak 54 gear/wheel pants! 5 1/2 inch clearance from the bottom of my 22x8. Gear $11.99 from Towerhobbies. Now it's either a Yap-232 or a Cak-232!

RE: GP Cap 232
i have a problem on mine, right wing does 1°, left wing does 0°, so my plane needs right aileron up to fly well...

RE: GP Cap 232
Great job on the gear!!! I am going to order some asap.
mm Call Tower and see if they will send you a set that was built correctly. |
RE: GP Cap 232

RE: GP Cap 232
Hi !
I had to rebuild my firewall end of the GP CAP232 damaged due to crash and I feel that I have screwed up on the side thrust angle, so I would be highly greatful if someone can tell me the required side thrust angle. I am using BME 50cc on this and would really like to be sure before I take it up in the air. Thanks |
RE: GP Cap 232
Somewhere around 3 for that size motor and prop. Most likely the testing was done with a 1.60 so you should need a little more than what is built in. Unfortunatly you will probably need to fly it to check if it is correct.
