For peoples who have storms post pics, tips and set ups. Also give some info on yours and points why the SO many people looking for 1/8 buggys can come here and decide they want to get it. SO SHOW OFF YOUR MACHINES!and i guess ill start.

I got a strom 2 weeks ago and i love it. I raced for the first time on Sat. night and did fine, except i broke a front a-arm driving badly. Im filling the diffs right nows w/ 5k, 7k, 1k. I race in another week. I plan on hoping it up to pro slowly!

how much did you pay including shipping?
any upgrades since bought?
any in the very near future?
hows the radio feel in your hand? cheap or solid?
hows the handling?

That was quick.
Packfan: i bought mine w/o radio or servos form lhs, they scraped it for parts then sold it to me for $350 and if anything was missing they gave it to me. Upgrades so far is the graphite center diff support they gave it to me for free, and i put 5k, 7k, and 1k in the diffs and i put in better servos.I plan on hoping it up to a pro, which is graphite radio plate, grap front supprot, T6 alum sterring plate, and 4mm F/B shock towers. I already had a JR XR2 so i put that in it, but my friend has the XR3 and i love i might go buy one! They handaling is great w/ a good sterring servo.
Rob, i answered you ques above!

Just a FYI, I have had the Hitec HS5945MG (100.00 each) and also the Hitec HS625MG (40.00 each) and I will tell you right now the 40.00 625 is almost as good at 40$ as the 5945 at 100$, save the money and buy 2 HS625MG for your buggy, for throttle, and steering. I havent had a single one fail either. EXCELLENT SERVOS for your Storm GS!

yeah, they work preety good, i really dont have great breaking, i made some breaking adjustments today, but if that doesnt work do you think i still dont have enough torque in the throttle servo.

rc harry the 625 locks up all 4 wheels on my Mugen, so I would say you need more adjustment not another servo. It seems 100ozin will lock up all four wheels assuming you are adjusted right...and your 645 has more tourque than the 625, so check your linkages, and such.

ok, it seem like its breaking better already, but i havent ran the car yet, just playing with it. oh, i forgot i dont have the 625mg, i got a hi-speed instead. STUPID ME! Yeah, it has 55 oz of tourque, but i still think its the adjustments.
oh packfan check http://www.twf8.ws/new/home.htm

a site JUST for 1/8 buggies!

Default GS Storm RTR Rebuild

Well, since this is the GS Storm thread I thought I'd throw in my two cents:

I just ran my first gallon of fuel through my GS Storm RTR, so I decided to break it down for a complete inspection & rebuild.

Those of you who own a GS Storm RTR will be interested in what I found:

- NO OIL IN THE DIFFERENTIALS! I disassembled and cleaned them completely and found them to be in very good condition despite the lack of oil. I then refilled them with 5000, 7000, 1000 oil, and replaced the gaskets.

- The front and rear gearboxes do not seal with the chasis well which allows dirt to enter the gearbox. I created a paper gasket using a grocery sack and an exacto knife. I think it will work.

- One rear dogbone pin was broken (which was a great excuse to upgrade to rear CVDs)

- The rear chasis suspension mount holes were completely "wollered" out. I had to by a new chasis, so check your rear suspension arm mounting screws frequently! I upgraded to the CNC mounting blocks and bought stainless screws. With a little loc-tite this problem should go away.

- The clutch shoes and bell were in good condition

Everything else was in great shape!

As far as breakages goes, I've had only two (aside from the dogbone) and that was a C-hub (which was a $6 part) and a rollover that has caused the right front shock to have a minor leak (havn't fixed that yet).

This buggy has turned out to be WAY MORE DURABLE than my RC10GT, and it's more fun to drive!

I had my storm for a few months.. I have to say a very nice car... handles like a beast....

well, when i first got the kit it came without a couple of componets... ( to do with setup the the servo's..) but the shop ran it in and finished the kit off.... which was cool...

so far, i've managed to break the front holding of my fuel tank by crashing it to a crub... (Nice one..)

my pull start has played up and just manged to fix it.... which was fun... NOT!!

and i bought two Hi-Tec 645MG servos they are good... reckonmend....

and also reckonmend a fail safe as my car went out of control and i shat myself seeing my new toy **** off on it's own at 40mph... luckily no damage... roll over hitting a bank of mud.. THank god..

I rolled it loads of times and nothing has broken..

i'll put some pictures up some...

read the speed camera post... when you have time..

Chris that seems pretty good for a gallon of fuel! And did you not fill the diffs when you got it, because they just threw grease in the diffs. After racing mine car and took it all aprat to clean it, i didnt find no dirt in the gear boxes. And for the chassie, ive heard most people go threw 2 a year!
evilpob what type of radio you runnin, always check your battery level and if you have a reciver pack, you reduce the chance of low batteries and run aways!

Venom makes a "system checker" for 20$ at ace, its a blinking led to monitor battery level by simply looking at the led, works great and is super bright. Takes all the guess work out of it.
