Weston Magnum Elevator Trim

Hi guys.
When flying my weston magnum, I have to give it some up trim on the elevator to make it fly level.
I have the CG as in the instructions
Does this mean that it is nose heavy ?
Can I move my both my ailerons up/down to make my nose go up ?
Thanks SJ

do you mean it dives, or just flys nose down? check the wing is seated propperly, check the down thrust, is it diving or climbing when you apply power? opposite to power off? i think the locals have a little up, more important is using the elevator halfs to correct any twist when you pull up

Hi...
It flys perfectly level with and without power.
But it has to have some up trim on the elevator
It just irritates me that it has to have this unnescesary drag to fly.
I have it within the specified cg.

your engine is uncowled, the pipes on the outside, you have two control horns at the back, thats drag. but i agree the wing is now producing too much vortice if its flying at a certain AoA to get lift.
try sending a PM to.. erm... johnd and ask him where his is trimmed.
last thought, the wing has a slight gap on the extention at the rear, if you've closed this by re-profiling the fuz, the wing will be at the wrong angle

Philly makes a good point. If you are worried about drag, the trim drag is minor compared to what he listed.
As for CG - depends on what you like. It may need this CG to be a "groovy" airplane that stays solid during high speed runs.
If you want to change the handling, CG changes can help. THey can also destroy your plane. Moving the CG rearward will allow less up trim. It may also make the plane harder to control. Move cg back in small increments. That would also likely result in better inverted handling, but your mileage may vary.

yea....you guys are probably right about the drag of the engine and stuff.... Ill just leave it alone.
And yes, there still is a little gap at the end of rear end wing extension.
But I also have a quite large gap between the wing and the fuselage.....you know, the wing saddle area. The wing only rest`s at the front of the wing where the dowl pis is, and at the rear wing where the trailing edge is. In the middle of the wing there is maybe abot 2-3mm of open gap.
Does this hurt performance any way ?
