Watch from 7:15 to 7:47. If what he says is indeed true, it is very possible for one of these suits to be seen at 3,000 ft. PERIOD. END OF STORY.
As far as what the pilots saw? I have no idea, I wasn't there and neither was Speed, or anyone else here that is pulling wild speculations from their posteriors....

Suppose I am wrong, so what? You and Franklin were wrong about me being Mach5nchimchim. Have either one of you admitted it? Did I feel the compulsive need to go on for two pages? How freaking pathetic that your goal in life for the past 2 days is to prove somone who has zero influence in your life wrong. Get over it already!
How freaking pathetic is it that you resort to childish name-calling and threatening personal harm on a toy airplane forum, all for the sake of trying to be, "the man"? LOL
Once you starting attacking and threatening me is when this became personal. YOU did it, not me, quit pointing your damn finger at me! I've been a member in good standing here for 20 years, do you REALLY think I am here just to prove you wrong? LOL Self-important much? Get over yourself!

The JB11 suit claims the following:
flies at 22,000 FPM
Flies up to 15,000'
Flies for 10-15 minutes
weighs 65 KG
You saw the vertical take off and landing, not too hard to do the math on the other specs to prove that it most certainly COULD HAVE been seen at 3,000' feet by commercial airline pilots.

I know you are, I was just clarifying my original, simple point that it is possible that a guy was at 3,000' with a jetpack. Others kept adding scenarios (parachutes, wingsuits, drones with dummies, etc, etc) as Speed dug his heels in. THAT is the REAL reason this continues......

Max Thrust (lbs @ ISA)*: 530
Max speed (mph): > 120
Endurance (mins)**: 10
Fuel: Kerosene/diesel
Operating Ceiling (ft) 15,000
Piloted/Fully autonomous: Piloted
*Maximum thrust can vary depending on density altitude
**Endurance is dependent on pilot weight and density altitude
So yes, by definition this was totally possible. The question I have to ask though is "by who". Since, according to Jetpack Aviation, one can only rent one of these things under heavy supervision. But they are not for sale, so if it was one of theirs, who got their hands on it?

Guys, how about we put this subject to bed. We have come up with three ways the pilots could have seen someone at 3,000 feet that are plausible so that doesn't require any more debate. As for everything else, does it really matter any more? I personally don't think so and feel this has gone on long enough to more than ruffle many feathers that didn't need to be

Now granted, some average joe shmoe probably would think of that before trying such a foolhardy stunt. Which would then insure completion of such a disaster.
