I thought Easytiger just got displeased with the conversations and took his marbles elsewhere. Was not aware that he had been banned. Since your assertion that he was banned is a pretty serious and personal frontal attack, care to provide some documentation to support it?

Don't take allegations too seriously. Take ALLIGATORS seriously. Did you know that there is a whole breed of albino SuperGators living in Manhattan's sewer system? For real. DON'T go down there.

Easytiger,
Do you know Horrace personally, professionally, or as a hobbyist? Can you explain to us just what you think he has done in the past to hurt the AMA or the hobby? What do you think he willl do in the future to hurt the AMA or the hobby if he is elected to AMA office?
Regards,
CR

My complements on straightening out the banned issue, but don't let that go to your New York head. Your hat might not fit.
Why do you have to be AGAINST? Is that what you prefer to being for improving things?
I am still waiting for Horrible to explain some of his anti AMA EC assertions with provable facts. The additional cost of all those extra magazines is a good place to start...

I find it interesting that he won't acknowledge your request for details, seems very telling of his personality.

I am not "against". I am very much FOR AMA and model aviation and most other things that are spoken about in this forum...seems like most of the people here are AGAINST AMA, if being FOR AMA makes me AGAINST them, then call me AGAINST.
I am against Horrace, though. For a multitude of reasons.
But I don't spend an awful lot of time worrying about him...so far as I can see, he hasn't even been NOMINATED, much less elected. If he DOES get nominated, when he loses, he will cry foul, claim "spoilers", a recount, "old boy network", blah blah blah, we saw all that before.
I'm pretty happy with the current EVP, he's well-qualified and he's doing a good job. Show me a candidate that can do better, and you've got MY vote.
I'll nominate Horrace, if he wants. No sweat off my back.

Hey dude,
YOU said "It's me against all the Texans," and I find that devisive rather than constructive. That was what I was speaking of.
Nominating Horrible is not consistant with the standards you have held in the past.
Which statement was a joke? Or dribble?
Neve can tell as you Nuyokers are like that.
Or have you been bagged lately?

ET you say that I, Horrace Cain, am a danger to the hobby.
You refuse to state specifics evidencing such. Your defamation of a person by written or representational means defines the word libel.
ET, "Charley" asked for information as to how I would hurt the hobby if I became an AMA officer. You ignored that item.
ET you state: "I am against Horrace, though. For a multitude of reasons.
But I don't spend an awful lot of time worrying about him...so far as I can see, he hasn't even been NOMINATED, much less elected."
I have to be the bearer of unpleasant news for you. YOU can't see very far. [>:]
Giving the devil his due, I have to admit that I have this "losing-the-election-thing pretty well figured out. However, being somewhat stubborn, I still hang in there. ("Never give up for that is just the place the tide will turn." H.B. Stowe)
Now ET, you answer my post (#53) with again what YOU WANT!
Is Reading Comprehension something beyond your grasp, ET. You were TOLD that what you want is within this forum. So have at it. It's all a matter of record right here in this forum, all made in just a past few months.
Therefore, ET, I know of no good reason to again place it all here in this thread, or even to continue this conversation until you comply with the requests made of you. As previously stated, it is YOUR curtain call. I WANT to see you on your tiptoes doing your thing around the floor, and you don't even have to have an expensive plate. [sm=tired.gif]
EDITED to add: This IS NOT a reply to J. Branum as per the RCU software indicates. It was simply a fast reply on page 2.

Then go ahead and recap them for "small persons" like me.
I want to hear what it is you want to "improve" at AMA, were you elected.

So just to be crystal clear on this one, even if the AMA had a disclaimer about breaking the safety code in writing that you acknowledge by renewing your memebership, they can still get sued even if the rules are broken? seems to me that if it is in writing and you accept this upon renewal, tehn they should not be held accountable. But I guess the lawyers that work for the AMA who went to law school and know more than me thought of this already and got kicked in the wang on that one. Damn the bad luck.
Fix that!! That is what I want.

I kind of wish that you would quit entering into threads as an excuse to attack Horrace and call him names. Please stop the "I hate Horrace posts", please. They do you no credit and are not productive. Not only that you seem to be wasting a lot of emotional energy on them. C'mon mon, forget past animosities, load up an airplane and come up to the hills and fly with us.

I don't hate Horrace, but I am convinced that he would be horrible for the future of the AMA from any elected position.

Hey JB, are you feeling left out with ET getting all the attention? OK, I extend to you the same invitation: Lay your gripes / thoughts / whatever, right here on the table. Now let's explore:
YOU,JB, have stated within this forum that AMA's MA should be a profit center for AMA. That is one of my stated goals along with motivating the other model media to join AMA in promoting the hobby / sport.
YOU, JB, have stated that you want more and better communication from EC members. I have promised a Web site where all pertinent AMA business would be available to all members.
YOU, JB, want more interest in Flying Sites. I have promised to work to fill the free media and governmental agencies with awareness of our sport / hobby, recreation, whatever you prefer to call it, and assist all levels to better understand the needs, when Clubs petition for new flying sites or attempt to keep current ones. I used my own funds to make one site available for a large club. I work diligently for that club. How can I be against flying sites?
Now JB, tell me and all these fine open-minded people just where you and I really disagree and how I pose a threat to model aviation?

I have been involved with more than one start up operation where the CEO is convinced he knows more than any about everything. Those all seem to crash and burn badly because of an unwillingness to listen to outside concepts. Read the last sentence of the previous response twice and consider that I am sure you are like those poor CEO's

You still have not explained why you feel the number of issues does not match your count. Or do I have to dig up YOUR thread to ask the question?
YOU, JB, have stated that you want more and better communication from EC members. I have promised a Web site where all pertinent AMA business would be available to all members.
Unless I am gravely mistaken, that has existed for some time. While everyone agrees it needs improvements, I fail to see how YOU are going to improve it. Last I checked (in YOUR words) "confusers" were not your specialty.

You and I happen to disagree on the manner in which the AMA and hobby are presented to the general public. You want to go for the big national show and I prefer going for the local decision makers. Show me where I said you were against flying sites because I surely cannot recall saying that. However, you do seem to be against any thoughts that do not agree with yours, a common failing of many.

Maybe the CEOs crashed and burned because you were so adamant to your own ends that you also failed there -- as here -- to see that both, the CEOs and YOU were going to the same place, and each road went to that place. Maybe JB you were so intent on blocking THEIR road that you never traveled ANY road to get to the objective point.
JB, your above attempt at discussion makes a good illustration of just where the real danger to model aviation dwells.
