Another GP Bipe I gotta get! I already have the P-6E and it's one of my favorite planes. The Waco would just be icing on the cake if I add it to my biplane stable which currently includes the Top Flight Staggerwing, GP P-6E, and the E-Flite PT-17e.
Now I just gotta convince the controller of the check book.

It looks better than the picca model...
My only wish would have been....Make it bigger..
Bigger cowl, means more options in engine department...
Even a 30cc will hack the cowl up with a side muffler..

If your name is'nt on the order list yet, you may be on the waiting list for the next shipment. Can you guys imagine all the personal color schemes that are going to be applied to this one. I hope GP has the common sense to make this one a long production run. If it is the old Pica one, doubtless this has been cleaned up by GP. MM

Apparently it's the old Cox 72" WACO. If so, I sure hope they've fixed the main and tail gear and wheel pant attachment. Other than that, Cox had a great thing going.

Well, the video says it uses Fiberglass landing gear and struts. If these are the same as the FG gear they have been using on some of their later models (and I see no reason why they wouldn't be) they should be outstanding. I've used them on a few of their newer planes and I love them!
As for the size, a 30cc gasser would be too much - but it just might be ideal for some of the new 20cc engines out there.

They show a DLE-30 in the video but that does seem liek a lot for the type of airplane that it is. I am leaning toward the DLE-20 or soemthing else in the 20-26cc range.

Thanks Dave, I was just wondering if you were one of the GP people we deal with at Toledo, et.al.
And don't mind Bill, he's a world-renowned master builder, a Waco fanatic, and a judge at Top Gun so he's not really fond of ARF's, but he's one heck of a nice guy.

Yeah, I know Bill (I copmpete at Top Gun, most reacently with 1/3rd scale Albatros). Good guy but closed minded towards ARFs. Outside of work, I don't have many ARFs but I really like how they have cleaned up the flight lines at the field. It isn't a line of patch work Sweet Sticks with the covering falling off any more. That is what the anti ARF guys forget. Builders will always build! This Waco is one I will own (along with my P-6E), I will probably fly it in fun scale at the contests this summer.

I thought this Waco wasn't simmular to the cox.... the fuse is too thin.... Circumference wise...

It's not that I'm closed minded toward ARFs, its just that they have no soul. Every ARF looks just like every other one in the series. Those who take the time to modify their ARF models to personalize them have my respect. I'm personally happy to see another Waco in the marketplace. I've about got my plans for the 27% ready to proof. Hopefully the GP Waco will generate some interest in building other versions. I just hope that GP does not fall into the same issues that Cox had with theirs, and that the models will be filling the pipeline, rather than filling it with disappointments.

I had one of the Cox 72" Wacos. A great idea, great basic airframe let down by flawed details and then lack of customer support. I'm betting GP, with its track record, won't fall down on either count. (And I'll probably get one of those, too!)
