Is that the all plastic one? ......If so, I have two, one with floats & one without....Nice construction; fly a little "Heavy" but very nice....If you have certain questions, maybe I can help....FWIW

I've also had a couple of them and if I can answer any questions I'll try. Just post them here and I check in every so often. Just follow the instructions and look at the pictures a lot. I do suggest that any place you use glue that you " score " the area being glued. Just scoring with a hobby knife is enough. What engine are you using ?? ENJOY !!! RED

thanks SJN red head and tande

i have started assembling it and i am almost through with the easier things like pasting jobs.

the main problem i am facing is with elevator........ it is little stiffer than normal and the push rods that have come with the kit bend when i connect servo with the elevator.

second problem i can see is about engine mounting it.from area is too compact can not tighten the screws. do i have to cut a hole or some thing to tighten those crews ?

rest i will post as face new problems

cheers

It's been awhile since I assembled the last one but as I remember the engine install : the engine mount and engine needed to be fit outside the cowl then taken apart and the mount installed ( it used phillips head type screws and it was no problem tightening them. Then the engine had to be maneuvered around to get it into the opening then tighten the screws with a screw driver. It might take a bit of fooling around but shouldn't be a big deal.

As far as the elevator, rudder and ailerons being stiff: disconnect them from the servo and spend some time flexing them up and down, they should free up a bit. The hinges are molded into the wing, stab etc. and need to be flexed a bit. NO WAY should they bend the rods .

If you use a 12 x 6 prop you should have ground clearance ( might not be enough prop ) but if you go to a 13 " you may be really close. I had an OS 91 and used a 12 x 6 , 3 bladed prop. I had to to get good clearance between the floats. ENJOY !!! RED

thank you red head for your encouraging words.

flexing of wing aileron does not seem to be working so i have glued a wood piece at center of fuselage and elevator with a hole in it and have passed push rod through that hole...... it seem to be working.

engine mount i will try as you have advised and will update you with the progress.

for engine size please advise if .65 will keep it under powered?

for prop size i am planning to stick to 12x6 as mentioned in the manual.

cheers

I don't follow what you did with the ailerons, and don't understand why they are so stiff. I've had all of the plastic planes and NEVER had the problem you are having. Maybe you should go back and look again at what YOU are doing.

Engine wise, you should have plenty of power, even on floats if you go there. The reason I mentioned a 13" prop is because we always used 12 x 6 props for the 60 engines back a few years ago. Now the 65 is a bit better then the old 60's and should be able to use a 13". You will just have to try and see what works best. ENJOY !!! RED

i think i am unable to describe correctly what i am doing with elevator ( sorry i mentioned ailerons in my previous message )

will try and post pics of what i am doing with elevator.

for engine noted your comments and will try 13x6 prop after a few flight on 12x6.

cheers

If you set up the elevator correctly, the servo will pull on the control horn (on the top side of the elevator) and will not flex. It may flex when you try to push the elevator down, but you rarely would ever need to do that while flying.
